| Trail ran: | Mid-1999 | |
| Vehicles in attendance: | Several lifted early-model Explorers, as well as a Bronco and a lifted Blazer. | |
| Trail difficulty: | 6/10, for vehicles tested. Mostly moderate except for a few challenging obstacles that make it slightly difficult. | |
| Location: | Near Lyons and Boulder | |
| Directions: | Take I-25 to Hwy 66, go west on 66. Continue through Lyons. Turn left/north on 7/36, follow for several miles into Roosevelt Forest. You'll pass Barking Dog (difficult) around mile marker 22-23, there are no markings. Take a Left at 72 (peak to peak highway). You can air down at a big flat spot on the left of the road, and then cross the road to Bunce. |
These are four of the Explorers that went on the first trail. There was also a Blazer and a Bronco, but you'll see pictures of those later. They weren't in on the group shot though.

All 12 of these are from different obstacles along the trail. The first eight are from Bunce School Road, the last four are from Slaughterhouse (the Boulder slaughterhouse).

Here is an interesting comparison. The first one has a body lift and a suspension lift. He removed his anti-sway bars, whereas the second vehicle has anti-sway bars in place and only has a suspension lift. Right away you should notice a difference.
