Rob Simpson, Parker CO
I was born in Helena, Montana and my family moved to Mt. Mckinley, Alaska in 1967. My dad was a civil engineer for the Federal Highway Administration and built most of the roads around what was then called Mt. Mckinley National Park (it's now called Denali National Park). We moved to Juneau, Alaska (home of Carlos Boozer - Duke b-ball player, US Olympic basket ball player, member of the Utah Jazz), in 1969 and graduated from high school in '83. (yes, i'm old)
I spent 22 years in Alaska and moved to Seattle in 1989. This summer I was transferred to Parker where I work for a defense contractor called Martinez International Corp. My job title is too long to type, but basically I bid projects then go and build 'em. We have offices at 13 military bases across the country and are working on several U.S. Consulates around the world.
I live with my fiance, Lisa and her 9 year old son, Evan. I am an avid outdoorsman (that ole Alaskan upbringing) and I hunt, fish, ski, camp, etc. We have Polaris ATV's and are trying to find time to explore Colorado. I am lucky enough to have a neighbor who owns property near Gunnison and has promised to take me elk hunting this fall!
My truck is an '89 F250 S-cab with an EFI 460, C-6, 35x12.50's and soon to have a Dana 60 front end with an Ox Locker. It has 71,000 original miles and will be used as a plow truck in the winter. I'm hoping to repaint it this fall to match the canopy color. Don't tell anyone but the canopy is a Ch**y color!
My daily driver is an '03 Dodge 2500 4x4 with a Cummins (only because Ford has real problems with the new 6.0 diesels) and Lisa has an '01 Excursion with a Powerstroke. We are all three looking forward to meeting the members of the RMFTC and can't wait to get out on the back roads!
