I will be there for sure. Last year I missed it because my truck was still in the shop, hopefully this year will be a different story!

My truck will for sure be there, but its possible I might not be able to park with the rest of the group... apparently BF Goodrich will have a booth at this years Truckfest, and they are interested in using my truck as part of the booth.

I know, it'd be a zoo! Parking in the wrong sections, leaving too early, wrecking in the parking lots, etc... LOL j/k. I'ms ure everyone is fully capable, but if we decide to meet up early and enter the speedway together, I might not be there, might have to get there super-early or even the day beforehand... not exactly sure.
Walking Eagle
02-24-2005, 01:11 PM
Ya, but I would think BF would want somebody who actually uses their tires.
mattadams
02-24-2005, 01:31 PM
Ouch! Burn noted. LOL.
37"s are on their way... hopefully they'll fit! :)
im new,but i have bfgs on my truck,99f250.
they probably want to use it because it looks sharp.
heck they might even give you a set of tires to put on your truck.
stranger things have happened.

03-17-2005, 09:56 PM
Mike, BF Goodrich is a sponsor of mine, they did provide me with a set of tires :).
thats good to hear, makes it worth while anyway.
mattadams
07-06-2005, 04:22 PM
Correction... BF Goodrich won't be using the truck in their booth at TruckFest at Bandimere Speedway, but rather the 4-wheel parts truckfest at the Denver Merchandise Mart the following weekend. So I will be able to display the truck with the rest of the folks.

I'll be there! Can't to see some SWEET truck racing, especially the diesels. I had a blast at fordfest recording all the Powerstrokes I could. Talk about some beasts!! 12-16/sec PSD's gotta love that!
Maybe I'll finally get my timeslip after my oopsy at Fordfest. I took the rear end out of my truck to find that I snapped my drivers axle shaft in half! On a Dana 60! Good 'ol 390 torque. So, while I'm in there my 3.54's are out and some 4:10's are going in, along with a Detroit Soft Locker. I'm broke now, err.

Hopefully everyoen can make it, I'd like to have a great showing! Lets get as many trucks together as possible, if nothing else it'll be a great recruiting opportunity for other trucks! (Plus, if someone has an e-z up they can bring ot block SOME of the heat, that'd be great, its usually a really warm show!)

As of right now I'm planning on being there. I've threatened the family not to pull any crap they did before the bbq/Ford Day weekend. As for hot I think I still have a sunburn from the 1st time we were out there a few years ago.
Walking Eagle

As for members worried about if there truck belongs, there will be a lot of trucks/jeeps/suvs with love dents. Not just "pretty" trucks.
mattadams
07-11-2005, 07:51 AM
Good point Jeff. And I don't want to hear the same crap as the last shows... "my truck isn't as nice as Matts, I wont bother showing it..." yada yada, I'm not going to win anything at this show, as that shouldn't be what its about... I think its just a good time to hang out with friends, maybe race if you want to, and spread the word of RMFTC :).

Well, I slept on it, and I think I will be showing up with a set of mismatched rims/tires. I guess in a way Leanintree will be at the show, since I'm still using his free spare.

Hey, I have a favor...can y'all bring up some tools? (I want to remove my tonneau and tailgate and my front headlight (maybe) at the track, but don't want to drive from the springs without it all on.)
Also, my g/f lives up in Greeley, can she park her car at someone's house and we caravan to the race? (That way it won't be stolen/towed at some wal-mart or something.)
Let me know guys, thanks! :)
Walking Eagle
07-16-2005, 07:08 PM
For parking, can't help there, we live in a covenant controlled neighborhood and we already have a parking lot in front of the house.
I can throw a couple of toolboxes in the truck with an assortment of hand tools. If your looking for something in particular, let me know and I'll see if I have it.

so are we meeting ahead of time, to enter as a group and park together?
If so, where and when?
DaneTrain
07-17-2005, 07:43 PM
I'll be coming from the Springs, and I figure we meet somewhere as a "big" caravan. That would be cool.
Also, as for the tools, all I need a a socket set and some other "regualr" tools. And maybe a truck to put all my crap I take off the Ranger, so it won't be stolen there.

As far as meeting ahead of time, if people want, we can always meet down below the staging area. I'd like to park together if possible, but it might also be good to have someone get there early and try to block a few spots for the group, otherwise if we get there as a group and there aren't any spots left, that's where it'll be...
I will volunteer to try to get there fairly early and block some spots, and then if you guys want to meet down below and come in together, that should be fine...

That would be awesome if you could do that. Also, would anyone mind If I took off my roll up tonneau,my tailgate and a spare tire off and left it to be secure in your truck? (I'd rather keep it there then just leave it on the groud for someone to take.

There is free parking at Bandimere Speedway if she just wants to park there. I'd offer my apartment, but I'm about as far the other way from Colorado Springs as it is fromt he Springs to bandimere... if that makes any sense LOL.

Ive seen full interiors of cars sitting on the ground at bandimere, hoods, tailgates, tires, wheels, tools, gas cans...and nothing ever gets stolen.
But yeah, they wont let you race with anything in the bed of your truck, including dirt, rocks, mud, etc. The trucks also have to be washed, so do the undercarriages..theyre pretty picky since there will be some trucks running low ET's there, and anything on the track can make them loose traction, and crash.

Turns out she isn't showing. (And I go to school in Greeley at UNC.) I'm just home for the summer.
Anyway, some guys over on the Ranger board I'm on said that taking my tonneau and tailgate off isn't a good idea. You guys have an opnion on it?
mattadams
07-19-2005, 09:43 AM
When I used to do test-n-tune, I tried leaving the tailgate down a few times, and my 1/4 mile times were worse. I didn't do it enough times to proove any theories though.
As far as tonneau covers... the nascar trucks all have tonneaus, so it must help with speed eh?

07-19-2005, 12:43 PM
I can be there as early as needed.
and I really have no bed to speak of, so nothing can be put in back. sorry.
BTW, Matt, I really like the spare tire mount. It looked good when I saw it in person.

07-21-2005, 08:33 AM
Since the gates open at 8:30, I would recommend folks get there at least by 7:45. I will try to be there as early as 6:30-6:45 so I can get a spot near the front of the line.
Everyone else, perhaps you can meet below the racers entrance around 7:30-7:45 and come in from there? Either way...
I'll have stickers and shirts with me for those interested.

r r r r r r rain? what is the strange word you say?
LOL Matt, I can be up there at 6:30. Your truck is tall enough, it can be missed, and no one can miss the stripes on Ranger.

07-21-2005, 12:55 PM
Dane, what the heck? You the wicked witch of the west or something? I think the show will be BETTER if we get some clouds and rain. Maybe some of the people with show-only trucks will stay home for fear of getting water spots on the exhaust and so forth LOL. Plus with how hot its been, any relief will be great up there on the asphalt!

I'm pretty sure we are going. My dad is racing his semi. 8) Calin Transport, Grey Peterbilt. He'll get a kick if you walk up and say Hey Tom.
I hope there will be some clouds since that would mean we could keep the baby out longer. I'm wondering if we need little earmuffs for him??? I don't think it's too loud if you're in the right spot....We've gotten fried up there as well and I'll happily supply sunscreen to anyone. I'll charge 50 cent/square foot if anyone needs me to apply it. lol
