As many know, my truck has been sitting for a few months now with a defunct transmission. I've been trying to find a good company, I bet I've called 20-25 different shops around town and got prices, etc. and evenvisited 5-10 shops. I think I've finally found "the shop" and on top of everything, hes agreed to do discounts for group members.
The shop is called A-Affordable Transmission Repair and is located at C-470 and Santa Fe. They seemed very knowledgeable and helpful, and they charge very reasonable prices. They only charge $250 for removing and reinstalling the tranny which is almost unheard of around here... long story short, the rebuild and install and labor and everything is costing me under $1500... a few shops mentioned lower prices, but they didn't have the expertise I was looking for.
So when your tranny needs work, keep these guys in mind!
A-Affordable Transmission. Santa Fe and C-470. 303-761-8888.
Just say you are with the Rocky Mountain Ford Truck Club and he'll hook you up with their "fleet" discount.

Sounds great. Hopefully it'll be a long long long long time before I need any tranny stuff done, but I'll try to remember their name if/when that need arrives.

I've been meaning to talk to my neighbor to see if he'd be willing to do any discounts for his place, but it seems that whenever I have time to talk to him, it's about what his son has broken, or shot at, or blown up at my house.

He said they do pretty much everything but body work, so I'll try to get a little more info on it.

Well I have been pretty satisfied with my rebuild experience. At first I was kind of upset because they had forgotten to plug in two of the O2 sensors (the two most difficult ones) and one eventually (because it was sitting on the exhaust manifold unplugged) got destroyed.
but they made the situation right by me like any good company would do, so I'm still giving them the thumbs up :). I realize occasionally mistakes can happen and it wasn't a huge deal.

Yeah, if they realized their mistake, and fixed it, that's a good company by me. True, it would have been better to have it right at first, but then you'd never have known how they'd be if you needed something like this fixed in the future. Sounds like someone knows how they need to run a business to me.

yeah thats it exactly... I would've rather had things fixed right the first time but they weren't, and it was a simple mistake anyne could've made. They did the right thing though, they replaced the o2 sensor and gave me a coupon for a free tranny service (fluid and filter change)

Good to know. The tranny is the weak link in my truck, and I know it is inevitable that it will need work sooner or later.
