Brant (our friendly forest service rep) emailed me today, to let me know that our club name and website address will be appearing in the upcoming "Colorado high Trails" newsletter, for our adoption of Saxon mountain. Took a while! But thats ok, hopefully others will see it.
Everyone still in favor of our trail adoption this year? Hopefully so. Hopefully this year we can get a sign up on the trail as well.

When I drove by Saxon Mt. yesterday, I had to look away after last year's embarrassment.

LOL, don't worry about it Jeff... look forward to the fun you can have this year instead of dwelling on the past.

If I get stuck on Saxon Mt. this summer after next week, I'll probably call a taxi and go home.

 He still missed it...
Maybe he really does only have 15" tires. Something like a 8" rim, or maybe a 14" rim with super low profile tires on them.
Maybe it's one of those ones I see all the time with 15" wide rims that are about 13" tall, and stick out about a foot from the body.

Jake, just FYI, ive been to the Summit of Saxon Mountain from the Georgetown side in an 83 Subaru station Wagon...but that was 4 years ago, i wouldnt think youd have problems with it.

ahh yes, that was a good time. I believe total damage from that trip was one busted window and body damage, as well as some damage to my explorer, a buddy with a horribly dented door... out of 4 vehicles that were ont he trip, 3 of them left with some sort of damage. Yikes.

Holy shit! You mean to tell me I'm not the only that's been stuck on Saxon Mt. You guys are a bunch of bastardos (new spanish word I learned today) for letting me mentally punish myself for the last seven months.

Well Yes... LOL I even got pulled out by TWO Fullsize Chevy trucks!
Lets just say there was a bit of the white stuff on the ground... :) Someone got stuck, so someone else thought they would just mearly back up and help out. Little did that person know that backing up would make the rear end slide out and go over the "lip" of the trail. Once over the lip it kept working it's way down till it was resting against trees. Shattered a window and that was that! :D
