Well, better get the ball rolling on this and get the first post int his forum! :).
June 27th is All Ford Day at bandimere Speedway, hopefully we can get quite a showing. I doubt my truck will be ready by that time so I'll eithe rhave an "in-progress" truck or I will just be there as a spectator.

If by some miracle I can make it I will, but I don't think its going to be very high on the priority list right away... But if I can I will!!!

Hey Hirolln, welcome to this site :). When did you get the new truck? Sounds awesome!

Matt,
I traded my big one in in jan of this year. I did take all of the goodies off before the trade though. I am currently working on this one. It should be about "2-"3 bigger than my old red one. I just had to have the new 6.0 andI wanted a crew cab. I am currently working oon the stereo system and just ordered my new lift springs out of California. I will keep you guys posted on my progress. Were any of you at thorntonfest this weekend?

Tray

I was there. My daughter's tap dancing class performed there, so I kind of had to be. Luckily my youngest was a little restless, so we got to walk around, and check out the cars. I was a bit disappointed though, as just about everyone was there last year, and the year before. I only saw a few new cars this year.

Yeah I noticed the same thing same cars year after year. Man I wish my truck was done I would have liked to compete against a few of those lifted trucks.

I was up at Thorntonfest. There were some nice cars and I talked to Rick (Not2big) for a little bit. It was a great day for a car show!

Hmm, should I bring the Stang or the X? If I bring the X, would someone have a ramp down there? lol

How much will it cost to go there? Are we going to have a group area or something?

Walking Eagle
05-27-2004, 05:46 PM
Chris, here's the pricing

Admission
Race/ Show $30
Show ONLY $25

For this show, they break the groups up by by type and year of cars. Since in our case we have trucks, we park together in a group. But if you bring the Mustang, still come down and sit with us. I know Cory is taking his Lincoln.

Well the bad news... there is no way my truck will be ready for this show. The person who was going ot be doing the work has been draggin gtheir feet, but thats ok I'm not complaining...
The good news! Assuming everything goes according to schedule, i should have the stickers and lanyards and nametags ready by this event :).

mattadams
06-03-2004, 02:24 PM
By the way, just because my truck won't be here doesn't mean I won't be... I'll be there as a spectator to hang out with club members and do some shmoozing! :).

Tray
06-03-2004, 02:43 PM
How much is it just to be a spectator, for those of us without 'show quality' trucks?

mattadams
06-03-2004, 02:49 PM
Tray, I say show your truck whether its "show worthy" or not... sometimes its fun just to show what you've got :). But if I remember right, last year it was something like $12 for spectators, I'm probably wrong though.

Tray
06-03-2004, 02:55 PM
Yeah, I just don't really see the point if there's not much that's unique, or unusual about it. I suppose it wouldn't hurt, but we'll see.

clavos
06-03-2004, 02:56 PM
I may go as a spectator. I'll have to see how the finances work out, but I may be working on the truck.

Walking Eagle
06-03-2004, 04:09 PM
Maybe we could do some mods at the show? I got RS9000 shocks for Christmas that are not on yet. I've talked with Matt in the past about wiring some reverse lights, but never figured out.

Walking Eagle
06-03-2004, 04:13 PM
I think people should enter their trucks, it shows the club spirit. Besides if nobody else is showing their truck, I'll feel stupid being there by myself.

I'll be there! 8)

mattadams
06-04-2004, 07:17 AM
I agree I think people should show their truck whether or not they think its going to win a trophy. I showed my truck many times when it was practically stock, who cares if it never won anything, I liked ot have people look at what I liked to look at too :).
Jeff, I'd enter mine but I'm not sure if its going ot be in the shop at the time or still at my apartment... and if its still at the apartment, I know it won't make it upt o bandimere cause I can't get it out of 2nd gear LOL.

Heath
06-04-2004, 09:38 AM
It'll make it... Just drive slow, you know, like you used to...

Heath
06-04-2004, 09:39 AM
Oh and at this point its not looking very good that I'll make it folks... :( Maybe next year...

mattadams
06-09-2004, 03:02 PM
I might be able to bring the truck after all! It might be "sanding in progress" but it'll be there. :)

mattadams
06-10-2004, 07:55 AM
Thinking about it... I remember sometimes these shows have an award for "in progress" trucks... just wish I knew someone really good with photoshop so I could have them render some graphics up for me!

Heath

The X forum has some guys that are really good... Section525 is pretty good if I remember right...

mattadams
06-18-2004, 02:48 PM
I still havent decided for sure if I am going to show my truck or not. The hail damage at this point is kind of a bummer, to say the least :).
I will still definately be there though... i've got a bunch of coupons from Phil Long for $2 off admission but thats only for spectators.

Walking Eagle
06-19-2004, 12:58 PM
I don't know if I'm going. I won't be able to get the truck cleaned for the show and I really want to go 4 wheeling. I've not hit any trails yet, because of mechanical problems the last two weekends. I really want to go Saturday and get dirty.

mattadams
06-19-2004, 06:16 PM
Jeff, you gotta go :). I know Dom is going to be showing his truck as well (or at least thats what he told me) he'll help ya detail it. I have to be able to hang out by SOMEONES truck...

Walking Eagle
06-19-2004, 07:51 PM
I'll go, I just did not want to be parked by myself. I generally carry on a pretty good conversation with myself, but after a couple of hours I run out of things to talk about. It's usually pretty civil, but a couple of months ago I got into an arguement with my 3rd person and he walked out. My 3rd pesron just came back a few days ago and don't want to go through that again.

mattadams
06-19-2004, 07:54 PM
LOL! Well I'll hang out for at least a few hours, I want to do some talking with the Colorado power Stroke club about some joint ventures, try to do some promoting, yada yada yada.

clavos
06-19-2004, 08:24 PM
I may show up and hang out for a while. I've got two cars in a show on the 26th, so I definately won't be interested in showing the truck.

Walking Eagle
06-20-2004, 01:15 AM
This is the way I look at it. I enter the show only, because this allows me to park at the top of the hill behind the bleachers. This way if I bring a cooler or a chair, I don't have to walk back and forth 300 yards to the spectator parking lot. When I'm ready I pack up and drive out. In the past years I have not even turned in the entry form.

CNTRYCOWBOY
06-21-2004, 12:07 PM
I am going to be there with the truck. Jeff I will help you clean the truck up if you want me to. Matt I'll take two of those coupons if you don't mind. I think this may be our smallest showing ever at an event.

I cant believe that it is finally getting done and just in time for the shows!!!

mattadams
06-22-2004, 10:40 AM
Sounds good. Mine is getting lifted the weekend after the Bandimere show, but hopefully it'll be sporting some new tires/wheels by Truckfest, LOL.

06-23-2004, 05:18 PM
Well, I might have got me a nitrous kit lined up for the truck for a cheap price.. I would like to see how it will run on a little laughing gas and to see if I can't blow it up!

It isn't looking like I will make it Sunday though, trying to get everything done so I can make some room for Matt's truck when we lift it.

mattadams
06-26-2004, 02:51 PM
stickers made it today, so I will have some at the show.

yeah Hirolln, you seem pretty cool, and your g/f is hot so you can bring her too... LOL j/k. Look forward to hanging out with you in the future, and I want to at least sit in that truck if not drive it for a little ways (would you let a guy do that? he just wants a few simple pleasures in life... LOL) but when I asked on Sunday, your g/f said no! LOL.
She said "feel free to open the doors more and look inside" and I asked "can I get in and drive it around" and she said no... go figure.
