View Full Version : NEED 315/75-16 SPARE?

I'M GOING AFTER TIRES TODAY OR TOMORROW, AND RATHER THAN PAY THE TIRE GUY EXTRA TO DISPOSE OF 2 BAD TIRES AND 2 NOT-AS-BAD TIRES, I THOUGHT I'D SEE IF ANYONE NEEDED A 315/75-16 PROCOMP X-TERRAIN FOR SPARE. I'M CHANGING OUT BACK TO 285/75-16'S, SO I DON'T NEED THEM, BUT I FEEL ODD ABOUT BEING CHARGED FOR THEM TO 'DISPOSE' OF SOMETHING THAT THEY ARE REALLY GONNA JUST PUT ON THE RACK AND RESELL TO SOMEONE IN NEED (LIKELY OF A SPARE THAT IS THE RIGHT SIZE).
SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YER PEACE...

If you still have a tire, find out how much to UPS and I'll send some money over before you ship.
Zip code here is 80216.

HOW SOON WOULD YOU NEED IT JEFF? IF IT ISN'T SOMETHING IMMEDIATE, I CAN HOLD IT UNTIL THE NEXT POSSIBLE CHANCE TO ROLL IT DOWN THE HILL...

Don, out of curiosity, what is the approximate travel time between Denver and Grand Junction with good weather?

If I remember right, about 4 hours. Sound about right, Don? Maybe 4:30.

That's correct Matt, assuming you dont make any stops and generally go faster than the speed limit.
If you can get out of town before all of the ski bums, it's a 4 hour trip. Otherwise it can turn into a nightmare.

YEAH, WHAT THEY SAID. IF YOUR COMING FROM *MY* DIRECTION, IT'S BETTER (MOVING OPPOSITE REGULAR HEAVY TRAFFIC). GOOD CONDITIONS, NO SLOWDOWNS, AND IT'S ABOUT 4 HOURS. IF YOU PLAN TO LEAVE FRIDAY NIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING OR RETURN SUNDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING, IT'S ANYBODYS GUESS. LAST WEEKEND, COMING IN ON SAT MORNING, WESTBOUND TRAFFIC WAS BUMPER TO BUMPER FROM EISENHOWER TO FLOYD HILL. COMING BACK ON SATURDAY NIGHT, EASTBOUND WAS STACKED UP PRETTY GOOD (AN AMBULANCE COULDN'T GET THROUGH). SUNDAYS ARE WORSE EASTBOUND.

If you really want to cut down on the time, Go on Christmas Eve around 8pm. There was nobody on the road.
As long as you don't go on Friday night, or Saturday/Sunday mornings, it's a pretty easy drive.

When I take my week off starting Feb 7th, I may waste a couple of days taking a ride in the mountains. Don, what is your schedule during the week if I wanted to stop by and pick up the tires. If I pick mine up, I'll pick up John's at the same time.

Don, I'm planning on coming over on Tuesday. Anytime after 12pm will work me. You let me know what time and place is the easiest that works for you with your work schedule.
If Tuesday does not work, any other day next week is good for me since I'm taking the week off. Except for Monday, I'm taking the truck in to see what a little modification is going to cost.

WHAT DO YA LIKE, BURGERS, TACOS, PIZZA, VI???? EITHER THAT OR I CAN JUST GIVE YOU EASY DIRECTIONS TO MY WORK (EASY EASY AND 5 MINUTES FROM THE HIGHWAY)

I made it back, the weather was fairly decent. Ran into a little snow at Vail Pass and the Eisenhower tunnel. The only bad part was my driver side window washer stopped working, so I played hell trying to see.
Thanks Don for the tires, and remember it's an A6 Intruder from the Marines.
John, I have your tire, we can work out a time or wait until our next meet?

NO PROBLEM GUYS. SORRY I COULDN'T INVITE YOU GUYS IN, BUT IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANYTHING SPECIAL... WITH MY OUTFIT OUTSOURCING MOST OF IT'S CURRENT MANUFACTURING, OUR FACILITY IN GJ IS PRETTY BARE OF ANYTHING INTERESTING.
BTW JEFF, HAS ANYONE EVER TOLD YOU YOU'RE A TOTAL WILDMAN? DUDE, YOU DROVE *8 FRIGGEN HOURS* FOR NOTHING MORE THAN A COUPLE OF NEARLY DEAD TIRES...

Besides driving 8 hours for two tires, my dad also bought me a nice steak dinner on the way back. Plus saw some nice scenery, it had been awhile since I had been past Copper Mtn. Also, with almost 150,000 miles on the truck, I like driving. Oh, I was also advertising the club name by showing off the RMFTC banner and Matt was going to pay a dollar per mile.
