June 26th is All-Ford Day at Bandimere Speedway. I'd like to plan something big for that weekend! Maybe a camping trip, or going up to the mountains, or just getting a bunch of folks together for a BBQ, or just about anything! Since this will be one of the first shows the truck will be in, I will need some time that weekend to detail, but I'd like to get as many club members together as possible.

I think the best idea would be to do something similar to our 4th of July weekend a few years ago. If we were to go camping, there would be a lot of stuff to do before we could make it to the show, plus it would cut down on your detailing time. I think the bbq or maybe a wheeling trip one day would make a good event.
i wouldnt mind , if i sell the lincoln im down if not i'll be at the show.

wheeling or BBQ!!

I'd definately say BBQ. Wheeling, quite possibly, depending on who all shows interest. I don't want to exclude any of the groups that can't or don't want to wheel, but I know the majority would like that so that can definately be planned in as well.
thats dirty wheeling or show damnit. i love the lincoln but i love wheeling.

Cory, I'm hoping everyone can make it to the show regardless. I'd like to see us have more trucks then the Colorado Power Stroke Club, just friendly competition :). But we could do wheeling one day, show the next. The show is on Sunday.
if we go wheeling that would be sweet with all the new members , that way
somebody else could pull jeff out. HA another cheap shot to jeff :thefinger:

I think theres a big ole hot rod run and show in Pueblo that weekend, i cant remember....But i know that day is my mom and stepdads anniversary.........I doubt ill drive to pueblo , since gas money to drive there could get me racing at Bandimere that day. Either way, if we wheel saturday....then go to the track sunday, or do a cookout sat, and ford day sunday, id like to find a place to spend that sat. night...anyone got room for one? Damnit, i just realized that i have to decide if i take the car, or the truck to the track....Probobally the car....im dreaming now, wheelin one day, racing the next...have i found my utopia? Whatever we do, ill be in, work dependant ofcourse.

Can I ban Cory? It was a bad summer last year, I got stuck a few times and each time he was the one that pulled me out. All winter I've been listening to this crap. I think I'm going to banish him to a Nissan truck club. I pray every night that you get stuck at C.O.R.E. in March so I can pull your butt out and get pictures/video.
i dont think you could theres a speed bump at the front gate you might get stuck on
you better bring you vid because if and when i get stuck it's gonna be bad
very bad

I have no idea where I will be living at the time, but I can try to talk my parents into heading out of town again for a BBQ, that worked pretty good the last time we had a BBQ there.
warlord i just read the info on your truck for the first time and i have to
say "damn" sounds like your truck aint no joke.cant wait to see it.

Matt if your parents dont wnat to give up their house, we can always find a park to have the bbq in. Spend a nice afternoon outside with the trucks.

Clements Park is in Littleton, which is convenient of course because its like two blocks from my house. Not sure about other parks in town, because I dont get to many of them. But Clements has many covered areas with benches, etc. that can be reserved for group festivities, and have bbq's, etc. (or we could all chip in and have Moe's or some other company cater!) and theres plenty of entertaining things to do. Batting cages, playgrounds, a big lake to walk around, a skate park for the skaters, or just hang out and enjoy the comradery, etc. Just a thought.

Park sounds fine. I was going to offer up my home but it's not exactly near Bandimere
mattadams
02-03-2005, 04:59 PM
It doesn't really need to be near Bandimere, because the two events will be on seperate days. So either way. Two years ago July 4th we had at my parents house, it worked ok.

If the weather is nice, a Park would be kind of cool. Of course, that's assuming nobody has bad allergies. But if the weather is bad, or if people just don't like parks, my house in Westminster is an option. I got a nice sized deck, big yard, etc.

I CAN'T MISS THIS STUFF... THESE PEOPLE ARE ALMOST AS ODD AS ALL YOU FOOKERS, AND THEYRE COMING FROM AS FAR AWAY AS BRITISH COLUMBIA, NEW YORK, FLORIDA, TEXAS AND CALIFORNIA. AS WELL AS THE GUYS FROM THE FRONT RANGE THAT I OWE BEER FOR PARTS...

I'd be down for a BBQ deal. Matt, you live really close ( like within 3 miles of my parents) so i'd be down with coming down for that weekend ( if i can get it off from work) and help out!
BBQ sounds good - park sounds great - then nobody has to worry about their house being trashed, there's plenty of room, those who want to can play frisbee or fly a kite (hey, I'm trying to come up with activities here) or something... :)
Works for me!
Anyone have a volleyball net?

Just bringing this back to the top...
I got to thinking about this, and wondering what others think.
Would you rather have a pot luck type bbq, where everything brings an item... or where everything is provided, and everybody just chips in $5 or something?
The problem with big pot lucks is say, if your having a bbq, and the person thats supposed to bring the ketchup and mustard, ends up not showing, then everyone is unhappy.

How do you guys plan on having a BBQ if I'm not there to cook for you???

Well, everything will be cooked properly now... Only kidding, Heathey. We'll miss your "biker stew," that's for sure. Otherwise, I guess we'll just have to get off our asses and actually do something. Damn... Feel like driving down for the weekend...? :D

I prefer to throw some money in and have somebody else cook.

Damn! Someone's a little cranky today! LOL. I agree with Jeff - put me in for the $5 (or whatever) and go from there. Of course, that leaves you footing the bill for anyone who says they'll be there and then doesn't show up - but then, we have ways of dealing with those types...

Here's an idea. How about everyone who says they are going to be there pays before the event. Just mail matt the $5 or whatever that way nobody is loosing money. That is my vote. I'll volunteer to cook in place of Heath, even though the biker stew will be missed!

Interesting twist of events... there's a good chance Lynn (Greez Lightning) will be able to make this meet with us! For those that don't know him, he lives out in California, hes a former movie producer and one hell of a nice guy. His lightning is unbelievable too.

I made a point to drive by Sloans Lake the other day, and while it was fairly central, there seemed to be minimal parking, and not a whole lot to do once you got there other then walk around... I only saw a few picnic tables too, so I am still on the lookout. I know Dom recommended a park near 120th that I still need to check out, but I'm still open for suggestions too.

The park is on 123rd right across from our apartment complex (Camden Arbors). If anyone wants to swing by and look at it. There's a grassy area for dogs/kids, a small playground. The bad part is there is only one picnic table and a small charcoal grill.

Well, first of all, I'll throw in $10 if it keeps me from cooking or figuring out where to put a mustard bottle in my truck (since mine is made in the pre-cup-holder era), and let someone deliver the food!
Second, I think we should go wheelin' the day before the show, mainly with Matt's truck! If it doesn't win a show covered in mud and whiskey dents, then the judges are all biased and stupid!!!!!!!!! :soapbox:

well son of a bitch!
Every park I've found that I like charges at least $100-150 to "reserve" an area. That's bull dookie.
Guess we'll either have to find a park that we hope is availabel at the time, or one without any features like the grills, etc.

Man camping sounds great bbq is always a good idea lets do them both im up 4 that
chatfeild is still my fav , we can " Q " on the sand and i know the perfect spot
mattadams

Cory, is it free? I think thats going ot be the key word... :) I know Chatfield charges like $10 admission or something, which might cause a lot of folks to not go...but if every other park in town is charging $100-150 to reserve a spot, we might be stuck eithe rway... unless we want to just wing it and hope to find a non-reserved area, or stick with the ez-up's.

I am in favor of Clement park in Littleton... i really DON'T think it will be busy the weekend BEFORE the holiday since everyone will be bbq-ing the following weekend... we should take our chances with that one and not pay... I think its the best plan and the best park.
Amy and I can ride our bikes into Chatfield and not pay. :D But that's neither here nor there. I'll go wherever the rest wants - doesn't really matter to me that much.

no, key word "pavillion"
mattadams
05-25-2005, 04:59 PM
actually, I think you can fish at Clements Park too, they have a lake there, I see people fishing all the time. I don't think I've seen signs that say no fishing. I'd like to avoid the $10 entry fee if possible.
Maybe what we'll do is plan on grabbing a pavilion at Clements and if by some chance they are all taken (they have like 15-20 different ones so I doubt they'll all be full) we can just hang out on one of the lawns or something, theres lots of space there. If worse really came to worse, I bet my folks would let us crash there again and its not too far from clements LOL.
