:(
On my 93 Explorer the tappet noise that is common to the 4.0L with more than 100,000 , is driving me nuts. I heard that someone had come up with a new style rocker that solved this "rattle". Has anyone seen them or heard of them?
Thanks :!:

I have never heard of such a thing.

I've heard of all kinds of rocker arms for various types of engines. Have you checked out the usual suspects such as Summit Racing etc. When was the last time you had a valve job? It might be worth it to get the whole shebang taken care of rather than just masking over it. If the noise is just bothersome, do like I do and turn up the stereo. LOL...

Yeah , I saw some of the rockers on ebay awhile back but couldn't find them again. I talked to one of my racing buddies and he said either run a lighter weight oil in it or do like clavos said and rebuild. I think I'll just turn up the stereo. :P :P
