Now that there are quite a few ranger guys here, pull-n-save says they have an 87 ranger if anyone is interested. I check their site quite regularly so I will keep using this thread to update anything I find in salvage yards.

Actually I need to find any yard with 97+ parts. Of the 106 I've called today, only 11 of them had anything. And 10 of them want ridiculous amounts of money for their stuff.

My buddy at work just got robbed. He was filling up at a gas station and went in to take a pisser and when he came out his dash around the radio was ripped out, glove box ripped out and his center console (cheapie checker kind) all stolen. Including his wallet with all his cash to bring his stuff up from Texas to his new home here in Longmont. Anyways long story short anyone know where he could get that radio surrounding thingy? It's a 2004 150 heritage edition.

Use the discount we get at Phil Long Ford. Sorry to hear about that, those kind of people piss me off.

Ryan, that sucks, I hate to hear about. As far as junkyards, you probably won't have much luck. Luckily if you do find one thats a very easy in/out part, but theres no trucks in junkyards that I've found...
You can call Phil Long, we get a pretty decent discount there, between 20-30% depending on the part.

That does suck Ryan. Check Ebay. I got one there for my 96 with the 4x switch, dual cig outlets, fog light switch for 10.00 plus 8.00 shipping. I see a lot on there. Just a thought.

Call the guys up at Loveland Auto Salvage. They had a couple of Expeditions in their yard when I called the other day.

Just FYI - the surround from any 97 -03 + 04 Heritage, and 97-02 Expeditions are all the same.

As much as i joke about parking lots being like "pull n saves" I didnt think id actually see the day when people pulling parts in a parking lot would happen.....its pretty damn pothetic. I would think that salvage yards would have many a wrecked truck this time of year, in which the interior would still be in usable, and even new condition. But, i dont know of any right off hand, because all my vehicles are ancient. Hopefully your friend can find a replacment soon, and have it back to good in no time. If for some reason, me cant find one that matches, i know there are some aftermarket compaines that sell "kits" , which have decal like overlays for the complete interior trim, and surfaces of trucks. Ordering one of those kits could be a last resort, if he has to get a mismatched color piece.

Where's Colorado Truck Parts? I can't find a listing for them?

Stadium was 5.5 times more expensive than Loveland for the parts I called about.

Just got an answer back from Denver Ford Parts, and they're ridiculously priced as well.

I've done business with Denver Ford Parts before and thought they were reasonsably priced. I got a seat and expedition console for $125, if you go down in person you may get a better deal by doing a little bargaining. It's worth a try.

Tray
01-11-2005, 11:22 AM
Well, I can get 1 passenger bucket for $450 (after bargaining).

Denver Ford Parts wants $450 for one bucket seat? Who did you talk to when you called?

Tray
01-11-2005, 12:49 PM
Larry.

I talked to him last week, he said they were supposed to be getting a 2000 F150 in today. Talked to him this morning, and he said it was rolled, but the interior was ok, but the seat would be $450.

I thought he was joking, but after talking to him about it, he said that's what good condition seats are going for right now.

Ask for Johnny next time you call. He worked for Ford for a long time, he can tell you a lot of stuff. He was who I worked with when I went there. Just a thought.

Tray

Johnny was the first guy I talked to, but he said he didn't know anything about what was coming in, and I had to talk with Larry.

Maybe I'll give it a few days and try to talk to Johnny about it.

450 ? dont you have a fairly new truck or do you just want bucket seats.

CNTRYCOWBOY

You can always just try to find a bucket seat bottom and attach it to the seat back that is in your truck allready. Then just take your factory seat cover to an upolstry shop to have it fitted to the bucket seat. Just a thought. Are you looking for the captains chairs or just the standard f-150 bucket?

Tray
01-11-2005, 01:34 PM
I just want to replace the 60 side with another bucket. I don't care if it's the driver side of a 60/40, another bucket, or a captain, I can make it work somehow. Shit even a donor 60/40 would work, that I could cut down. I really don't want to mess up my factory stuff, as I never know if I'll want to go back to being able to seat 6. Otherwise, I could just hack up what I have.

I thought about going to pull-n-save, and just finding some seats from a taurus or something, but then buying the brackets/tracks to attach would cost a ton, since noone sells them seperate from the seats, other than the stealership.

Ideally, if I could find just the base, with seat pan, slider, and mounting bracket, I'd take the back off of my current one, and mount it to the new one. But, that is even more difficult to try and find. There's tons of them way out east, or out in Cali, but to ship something like that would cost a ton.

I almost won an auction on ebay for some that were in a rollover, and the back was all messed up on one of them, but got beat in the last few seconds. The guy was up in Golden, so it would have been perfect.

The cool thing with wanting to go back to stock is there there is always someone out there that wants to go with buckets so you could always swap. Even ask around the junk yards for a seat that isn't in great condidtion and go from there. Check into some inexpensive seat covers that way you do not have to cut your factory seat cover.

I've actually spoken with him on the phone a couple of times, but thanks. He sold all of the main stuff on eBay a few weeks back, so now I'm sure it's down to smaller non-essential things.

Well, I'm now the proud owner of a Tan leather bucket seat from a 97 Eddie Bauer Expedition.

This weekend I got the bottom separated from the top. Cleaned it all up. tightened the slider, and got it all ready to go.

Now I just need to find a bottom seat cover to replace the tan leather with grey cloth.

Anyone have a clue where to find ford factory fabric so I can make one? Or a good place (read: CHEAP) to buy a replacement?
