I need to try and find out what year the engine is in my broncoii, it has a 5.0 in it and i was told it was out of a 1990 mustang and that it was a cobra engine. On top of the intake it does say cobra, but i cant find anything about a 90 mustang cobra. So does anyone know where i can look on the engine and find a stamping number or something that i can go by to find what year the engine is?

Cobra's started up again in 93... Not sure how to tell the year of the engine... Maybe if you got the VIN off the block a dealer could tell you...

Look for the VIN, it's stamped on the block of the engine. Might be on a tag on the valve cover or stamped on the engine somewhere... google will help, plus:

I know on the older engines the years were cast in to the heads and blocks not to sure on anything newer than 1980.

Fords have some of the easiest part numbers to read, especially by looking at the casting numbers you can get a good general ball park idea. Here is a link explaining it.
