Have you guys done any mod days with the club? I am willing to host at my large 2.5 car garage with every tool you would need including air tools. Back when I had my Pathfinder we would meet on a regular basis and got a lot done with major mods and just general maintenance. It was also a good time to meet other members and maybe even a BBQ thrown in. Let me know what you guys think. Peace!

Mod days are cool :thumbsup:

Although I think more BS-ing than modding usually ends up happening :laughing2:

That's a good way to meet new folks, meet up with folks you already know, exchange parts, tinker around on the vehicles................just an all around good time.

Haven't had them lately, I think because everyone is too poor to afford mods! LOL. I remember one particular mod where I was getting my truck finished for SEMA and had, literally, abotu a week from when it came out of the body shop to install suspension lift, new tires, new brakes, put bumpers back together, install rollbar, new bedrug, new tonneau cover, new power sliding rear window, new carpet, seat covers, wire up some new lights, new nerf bars, and a few other projects, etc. and it worked out really well to have 10-15 people showing up and working on different projects all at the same time. Man, that was a fun day.

Have not done one on this site but do on another one and its cool to get to know some more folks and generate a ton of ideas for different mods especially inexpensive ones! So all around they are good to do and even some things can be done pretty cheaply priced.

I know YEARS ago we had a fuel filter day... where we did a ton of fuel filter changes in one day... was kinda fun :). I dont know that the fuel filter in my explorer has ever been changed... probably the same with my f-150.

Mine would be more of a fix all the electrical wires the rodents have chewed off(things have been terrible this year). Anybody have any ideas how to keep them out of the engine compartment?(Squirrels,rats,mice). Still trying to find the hiccup in the 347, but that would have to be trailered. As bad as my 1ton and Explorer have been, gonna start tracing wires.

Mark, I had the same problem several months ago. It was squirrels here. The Bronco had a dead miss, CEL was on, ran very rough. I opened up the hood & found a nest built of twigs, branches & leaves on the intake manifold. Cleared all that out & found the wires on #1 fuel injector chewed through. The plastic vacuum lines were chewed through also. I repaired the wires & vacuum lines & it's all good now.

After that I looked under the hood of my Ranger to check for nesting, there were no signs. I guess the squirrels liked the taste of the Bronco more than my truck. My buddy at work told me to put 4 to 5 dryer sheets under the hood & zip tie 'em to several places. It must work because they didn't go back to the Bronco & 4 days later, I went to get in my truck & saw a squirrel come out from underneath the engine. Popped the hood & found twigs & branches & leaves in there. Cleared it all out, checked wires & stuff. Went in the house & got 5 dryer sheets & zip tied them in various places. Checked under the hoods of both on Saturday. No signs of them varmints being in there so far. I should change the dryer sheets soon though as I'm sure they're probably not as strong now.

On a side note.............I always thought my Ranger had squirrels under the hood powering it................this just proved it :rofl2:

I will try & make the mod day but me & my wife have plans for that day since it's my birthday. Meaning, I'm sure we can stop by for a little while because our plans for that day are up north anyway but I won't be able to stay for hours. I'll try to remember to bring my scanner (http://buy1.snapon.com/products/diagnostics/solus.asp?partno=EESC316F13IN&dir=catalog) to help out anyone with any diagnostic needs.

I had a problem with squirrels where i live about beginning of last year they didn't get My vehicals but they were all over the place maby 15 of them everytime I walked out the door and I could always hear them running accros My roof and the dogs would bark at them at all hours of the night .THEN!;
A coupla chicken haulks moved in the nieborhood they are great hunters and can fly through the trees and pick the squirrels right off the branches ausom hunters and You'd know what I mean if You had ever heard them or seen them fly through the trees they are sm,all and agile make a very similar sound to a full size haulk or an eagle I think very piercing sound i was scared for My little dogs but in the last year they wont even go out side if they hear that sound LOL

I'll be there but only for a short time. My wife will be with me too. Probably get there between 11:00 & noon. I'll be bringing my scanner, it reads OBD1 & OBD2 as long as it has this type connector (http://www.extreme-check-engine-light-codes.com/E-fordcodesetup-1.jpg). I don't have the adapters for it that you can use on the early connectors that came on say, an 83 T-bird.

Well, it's looking like I might not be able to make it after all. Our day plans got wrestled around a few minutes ago unfortunately. Meaning, not enough time in the day to do everything to keep everyone in my family happy. Oh well, such is life. Tomorrow's another day.

Thanks Chris, at least some people showed up for it... My truck is stuck at my work's shop, or I would have brought it (I also didn't see this post until now... )
I'm hoping to buy a 1976 F100 D44 to rebuild and install into my 67 VERY soon, as well as new springs, shocks and install my power steering. Who knows, if work keeps up I might get a locker to install into my 9".
Maybe I will host the next one, I am still new to all this and would love to learn from you guys.
