I'm working on getting this Manik brushgurad on my truck and I have run across a problem. The width of the brackets on the brushguard are 2.5 inches wider than the frame on the truck. Here's what I was thinking, finding something similar to my body lift blocks to fill up the gap and then run 2 long bolts through each side to hold it to the truck. Does anyone have any other ideas? I called Manik and they want $50 for a set of brackets, so I'm going to attempt it myself before I pay their price.

For something like a brushguard I would try something stronger. You should be able to find some square steel tubing with a 2.5 inch O.D. that you could either weld or bolt in.

Even better idea, thanks Neils. Hopefully I can have it on by sunday!

You gonna weld them on....or bolt them on...
Remember last weeks lesson about welding things to trucks.

I think I am just going to have a shop install the brush guard. Unless someone wanted to volunteer to weld?

For the love of god, someone please help him. I can't bear the thought of paying a shop to install a brush guard.

Its not that I can't do it. I could buy the f'n brackets from manik, there's no way i'm paying $50 for them. Jake said he would weld it on for me, so i'm gonna go that route. Hopefully it will be on right after the new year.
