Getting the alarm worked on... yet again. It was false alarming and the remote stopped communicating, as well as some other problems. So hopefully they'll get it working again!

I thought false alarms were a "feature" of alarm systems

I'm not too worried if it was pretty rare or something, but this was every hour or two. That and it took me a good 2-3 minues to get the dang thing disarmed sometimes because it wasn't communicating. I have faith they'll get it taken care of this time, hopefully I'll get a whole new alarm out of it or something.

well it looks like I'm getting a new upgraded alarm, so the folks at Q.A.S. are treating me right! :). Said the old alarm definately was having problems, was given the option of replace it under warranty, or upgrade to teh better version of it for a reduced rate. So I'm getting the newer version of it installed, and hopefully it'll work flawlessly for me! :).

Yeah, the alarm has been major problems since the beginning. I bought it at the Quality Auto Sound at Bowles and Wadsworth and the day before the install, that location was closed down (this was as they were being acquired by Audio Express) so it was moved to a different Quality Auto Sound that was also having to deal with the other installs, and I believe they rushed through the install because it wasn't done on time and when I picked it up a day later, half the stuff didn't work. Had to take it again for this, again for that, etc. the window module took literally 3-4 visits before it started working... Then a few months later the whole thing just went capoot, and I had to get it replaced (under warranty, thank goodness). Then the problem a few months ago where it stopped communicating, and the false alarms, etc.

just keep one thing in mind matt, some basterds out there will set off your alarm until you get tired of it and dissarm it for the night ,thats when they strike . i lost a $ 1700 system years back and almost lost my harley not too long ago. i just turned off the siren but left the factory one on got lucky
with the kill switch.

yeah thats one of the reasons I am getting it fixed. I never had an alarm problem with it false alarming before everything went bad...
My truck still has the thing where you have to have the key with the right chip to start it, which gives a little extra security.

Every night I drive by the Silverado nightclud on Morrison Rd. I love looking in the mirror and seeing all the lights flashing from the alarms I've set off passing by the cars parked on the street.
