My friend Paul and I started out at Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. That drive alone was pretty hair raising. All the streets and freeway were very icy. I bent up my front shaft out at CORE so I could not use 4 Wheel drive. I got there safe and we had a good breakfast then headed out. The streets were better as we headed north.
It was snowing off and on pretty good through out the day. We went up to 5 points then headed down a trail that lead us to where the Left hand challenge is. That looped us up to the upper connection of trails so we took another trail and that was pretty hair raising. I lost a right front tire with out knowing it and waisted a wheel. Lot of shelf road bearley wide enough for my truck, and trees that I sneaked through by an inch or so it was very tight. With 4-5 inches of snow any time the trail leaned off towards the edge it was tricky. I had to stop and back off a couple of times as my truck drifted off the edge. I was glad to see this trail conjoin back into the main Left Hand trail till I saw an abandoned truck that had slipped off the trail. This part is called the "Narrows". Luckily it was no where as narrow as the trail we got off of and we were able to make a very hard right turn (it took me 5 times to get my truck turned) to head back down the trail, with out hitting the abandoned truck
Paul just recently installed a locker in his Dodge and it worked very well. It was his very first time he was on a shelf road and he handled him self and his truck very well.
All and all we had a great time and Paul is hooked on 4 Wheeling.
Very icy:
