Well, I just ordered new shocks for my black 95 today. It has some trailmaster something or other on it now that have been leaking for the last year. Plus, those shocks were only made for 6" of lift and I have 9" now (from the sas) so they have been needing replaced for a good 5 years. LOL
Anywho, I ordered some Skyjacker Nitro's as they were pretty cheap and they are listed for 8-9" of lift. I looked at most major/popular ones and the most lift they listed were 4-6". Couldn't really find any specific details on extended and collapsed length's to try to find something universal.

So what does everyone like, etc? Anyone have any opinions on the Skyjacker ones?

I've run the Skyjacker Nitros since '01. I had to replace the fronts last year, the rears are still working great. They seem to absorb the bumps good. So yeah, for the price, I like 'em.

Thanks Larry. I looked around online on different forums and shocks are like anything else, some like em and some hate em.

I just put Rancho RS9000XL on my Sport Trac. I like the ability to adjust the damping because every shock I had before was either too soft or too hard. On the Sport Trac I set them in the middle at "5" front and rear. The rear was a little too stiff so I turned them to "3" and that is just right. If I load the bed with more weight I can turn then to a stiffer setting and it will ride right for that weight. The other thing I noticed with the 9000s is that they seem to be speed senitive. Meaning they will stiffen up when you hit big bumps at faster speeds. The piston valving must have a spring pack that restricts some of the orfices at faster piston speeds. Pricey yes but I like them. Best price on Amazon at like $86 each.
