4x4...on a keychain. Im doing some research, and planning. I have a great idea...and it benefits me in many ways. It helps my lathargic way of life, and it would also be kickass to show off. Im going to make my 4x4 operable from an old door lock/unlock mechanism. It will be operable from the lock/unlock button, which i will mount in my center console, and from a keychain remote. So, Sunday, ill be looking for a car, truck, or van with the automatic locks, and hoping that one has the remote in the car somewhere so i can put this together sometime this month, or next month.
Wonder what the guy over at fleet services will think when he sees what "someone who cant do the job", someone with no legit experience, me...comes up with this idea, plans it, builds it, and it works. Im shootin to keep my cost'o the build under 65 dollars. I have alot of research, planning, and thinking to do on this...the linkages, leverage, and mounting of it all should be the hardest part....I hope i can pull this off, it would kick sum ass

You lost me somewhere son! LOL... Getting some cabin fever maybe? I had to look for you today as I crept by the Plume on the return from Edwards, but it was snowing to hard to see anything.

Im drawing it out, and throwing something together using paint at work...basically, ill still select my HI or LO range using the selector knob (for now, i have a plan to make this push button too, but ittl be a little more expensive. But the 'lock' position, which it has to be in to be in 4x4, since my t-case is a full time converted to a part time , will be controlled, and operated electronically....and i will be able to activate it from a switch, or a button on a keychain. Im bad at explaining things, hopefully ill figure out how to make it happen, then just show people..lol

I wouldn't count on finding anything with a remote at any yards. I'd say you may be better off looking for the receiver, then ordering a remote that'll work with it.
