I just got back from taking the kids on a camping trip to Williams Fork Res. by Kremmling.
We got to spend a few days getting eaten alive by mosquito's and not catching fish, but had a great time anyway.

One of the best parts was being able to do some mild "off roading" (basically the rougher, un-maintained trails around the campsite) while we looked for firewood. Not difficult by any means, but it gave the boys a good start in "offroading". They learned that bouncing around in ruts and dips and having the Explorer lean in various directions can be fun instead of scary.

All-in-all it was a good trip. Maybe next year, with some fresher tires we can try a real trail.

if you're trying to upload super-huge photos, try resizing them down first. generally speaking most photos that todays cameras take are about 5-10 times the size that display on the average computer monitor and tend to take way too much space...

Ok, so I think I know how to resize the pics now, (damn windows photo-viewer thing makes you search around to figure out how to do it) whats a good "ballpark" size size to stick to?
for example, a photo I was trying to load is now Width: 3264 and Height: 2448.

What should I scale that down to for posting?

for posting I generally keep the images around 640x480, 800x600 tops. Most monitors, even bigger ones are no bigger than 1024x768 or 1600x1200.

ok, somethings screwy. I got the pic (jpeg file) down to 150x113 and it still says it exceeds the forum standards by 10kb.

Ray you can resize them in windows paint pretty easy. That is what I usually do, I can cut them down by setting the percentage to a smaller size say from 100 to 25 and it works good w/o losing anything.

Ray, you can try to upload them again, but best practice is to go to the photo gallery and upload them there, then link to them on the forums...
