An odd thing that happens every year

Every year on about this day, and for only one day an interesting thing happens where I work downtown.
If you walk through just about any parking garage or parking lot downtown on this day you will see that the number of cars that have bicycle carriers on the back skyrockets.
It wasn't that way yesterday, and is never that way the following day.

I saw a sign yesterday on I-70 flashing a warning about bicyclist riding to work today. Really do I need to watch for bicyclist on the interstate?
