Who is going? I have to haul the studebaker to thornton on saturday but am trying my best to be at Ford Fest
For who dont know what Ford Fest is,
It is a all ford event sponsored by Phil long at Bandimere speedway, show, Race spectate etc etc the event has gotten so big they do not do the swap meet anymore because there is no room. (Atleast that is what they tell me when I show up with a trailor full of junk on it)
for more information check out

Good thing you didnt head to Bandimere tonight. This weekend is the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, so i bet it was packed tonight and you wouldnt have been able to get many runs in tonight.

Countin' down the days. Should be good. I was talking with John last night about some of my issues with R/T in the 250, think I'm gunna work on a practice tree, then head out Wed. to test and tune, work on the tree a bit, and Friday Club Clash, work on it there as well. See if I can't nip this crappy R/T deal in the bud

Youll get it Chuck, its a pain in the ass but its worth it if you can get the advantage off the tree 95% of the time!!!!

Long as some of the registered racers/regulars can go a few rounds, and filter out some of the crowd, we should be golden. Should be a good race day!

I think i may have found the one way to make it work!!!! Seems to be working so far, between having a cut off wheel, an air drill, tap and die, and spare metal and a bolt assortment to make new lower mounting flange and bracket it seems to be working great.... Hope its a perm fix and not just temp....

Okay, so put the new starter bracketry to the test tonight. On the way home, about 300 feet before the Georgetown exit, the truck started to sputter, and died.... out of gas (i thought), so call up a friend, he takes me to get gas, put in gas, go to start truck.... still no start. Remove air cleaner assembly ( i usually dont run one, but installed it today thinking it would look good. Pleanty of fuel in the carb... ok, so lets look at ignition... Pull a wire, put a spare plug on it, ground out the electrode, no spark...... shit.....
Run me to my house, pickup a test light, a jumper wire and a spare coil (5th part i have stolen off my 73 f100 this week). Get back to the truck, after pulling it off the highway, disconnect the distributor wiring harness, install a jumper wire, go turn on ignition, and break the circuit a few times to check for spark at the coil wire (the way you are supposed to spark check an MSD box... No NO NO NO SPARK!!!!!!, read the instruction maunal, and it said if no spark after testing for spark like that, its 1 of 3 things, bad wiring, coil, or ignition bow is fubar... I know my wiring is good because i did it, so didnt even look at it (plus my trigger signal light was flashing on the ignition box during coil spark test, so i know its good) Installed the spare coil, and she fired right up, at 1255 am...
Lets see what i can break tomorrow....
All of the cranking, and trying to start, on a good note, put a good test on the starter bracketry, it sounded great, held up great, and i think is a permanent fix!!!

If you park down in the lower lots it should be free, admission is 10 or 12, race is 30 or 35 or something per class..... So oyu can spectate, or for 20-25 bucks more you can race too.........
My truck is being a piece of crap still, ill try to figure it out tomorrow so i can have it in winning condition on sunday.......I think tonight i broke a leaf spring or shackle or something, but didnt see anything visually soo ill have to run it and see..... I basicall y gave up the race today, i had it in my hands, then decided to let my opponent take the stripe first and i lost, pretty dumb move on my part.
And my truck is nothing special, as a matter of fact, when you see it, you will think to yourself, how in the hell does that thing even drive / move.

Me and Doc (aka nightmare customs) am heading up in a few hours to my parents to crash for the night. Pulled an all nighter on the focus not sure if we can race it though. 3rd gears acting up and started with out leaving us time to get it on a lift and throw in the new clucth. Might show it though.

15 to enter... thats what they said last night when I called bout the shows. Since doc's in the wounded warriors unit on base we scored 2 free tickets. One might be up for grabs depending if he enteres the show.

Fun day. All that can be said, very fun day.
Had a great day, first round I ran a 19.686 off a 19.68 dial and won, 2nd round I ran a 19.907 off a 19.53 dial, only because I lifted about 3/4 track and coasted I had such a big lead. 3rd round I ran 19.668 off a 19.63 dial, won, and 4th round, the truck ran slow and I had a crap light.
Had a lot of fun, All three of us, Shawn, John, and I had the sexiness all over us, and it worked out for all of us. All stayed in the same amount of time, all lost in the same round, great day.
I have pics, Shawn, sorry we didn't get any of you due to the people in charge of the camera not knowing what truck was yours, but I'll have our pics and vids posted tomorrow.

You, Chuck, and my friend Michelle all kicked ass!!!!
I am way impressed with Chuck running his dial in with a 6 in first round, makes me wonder if i would have ran my dial in first round of Pro if Matt didnt give me as much room as he did to lift (not alot of room, it was close, but i had time to lift lol)
My personal highlight of the day was when i thought i was going to have to run Chuck, so i skipped over 2 lanes and lined up against a focus. I shouldnt have done that, but i sprayed the radiator with water after running PRO, and was afraid i would drip water onto the track, so i pulled 2 lanes over, so i would run later, and the water would have time to dry.
I didnt get yelled at, or in trouble for that, even tho its not supposed to happen.

All of my rounds were good honest runs, everyone I raced cut good lights, even one was a better RT than I had but my ET was a .52 on a .50 dial in.
I was impressed with chuck running his humber as well
I am still mad that I red lit, and he was bagging which I will remember this, he is lucky I red lit because I would have pushed him through the gates. Oh Well I got time slips

I saw one guy in a construction cone orange mustang run a 10.25 on his 10.90 dial, so next round i asked him "was your 10.25 on your 10.90 a fluke, or planned", and he couldnt think of what to say back.... so i told him that different people have different ways of dialing lol.. he ended up telling me thay he has a car that will run a 10.20, but is legal for club, etc, so he has learned how to dial and run a 10.50 or slower, power to him, thats what stormy has to do, but if a 135 MPH car dials to take the stripe against any good slow racer, they will get their ass handed to them lol/
