I borrowed a good friends car, so that I could race in the "Street Tuner Mayhem" at Bandimere this last weekend. I ended up winning the event, in her car!!

Honestly, it takes a very "special" person, or a very good friend to just give me the keys to their car and tell me to go race it. Jene, who owns the 96 Corsica, is also an announcer out at Bandimere, and was announcing the event that I won, in her car!!
It was pretty sweet to win a big event like that, even if it wasnt in my truck, and it was a ton of fun. Even though it was an "import" event, the final came down to...... as Chuck would say..... a good ole Ford vs. Chevy matchup.
It wasnt a camaro vs a mustang..... or a power stroke vs a duramax, it was a taurus vs a corsica. Gotta love bracket racing.:D
Jene ran down from the tower after my win to come to the starting line to get the trophy presentation, and photographs taken with me. She is the gal next to me in the photo.

I swear, I never thought I'd hear the words "corsica" and "I won" associated with each other. But congrats man!
I was there for most of the day, at the MHSD booth.
And I think it is unfortunate that they the conception is that it is an import race, because Bandimere wasn't trying to promote it as such, from what I could tell.

Up until last year it was an import only race I think. Bandimere wanted to expand it to include corvettes, camaros, mustangs, gto's, vipers, etc...
There were more people there this year than last, but i think if it was marketed right they could draw alot more people to the track for the event.
Do you work for MHSD, or just hangin around their booth all day?

Congrats on winning! I was asked to come down there and be a judge for the car show again this year but I already had prior obligations. My buddy won best of show, best GM, and best display in his Cavalier. 2nd year in a row for him winning street tuner mayhem in the show.

thats cool John. Jene sure does make alot of rounds in tat car, must be setup well to be consistent enough to go many rounds. Takes a good driver to cut a good light everytime.
If I could do that, I could win some as well I know my dial, so does my truck. Its just "that part at the start"
Need a practice tree with a foot feed that you can adjust to correct throttle resistance

The tree is hard, i have always wished my truck was consistent because the tree is usually pretty easy in the truck, it just cant be predicted all the time. Its randomly consistent.

I don't exactly work for MHSD, but kind of. It's a small operation, and my buddy owns it. I work for him if he needs help on stuff, but only on a very part time basis.

So John, do you still race with Poor Boy?
I was above Central City and saw a big Dodge with the Poor Boy Racing banner. I dropped your name and all-a-sudden it was like I was a member of the family. I had to leave kinda quick though, other people were waiting on me.

Mike, I actually switched clubs this season, last year alot of the older poor boy guys didnt show up regularly to the races, so i joined up with a club of people who ALWAYS show up. The guy you talked to was probably Mike, he drives an old challenger, had alot of engine problems the last 2 seasons though.
Mirage, alot of people know Jene lol, seems everyone either recognizes her or her car.
