(yea I know it has been a while guys since I have posted...sorry :( )

So, my girlfriends Dad has a Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab that he uses to haul his 5th wheel. He recently got a flat and the "widow maker" jack that was included was not tall enough to lift his vehicle. It is stock height, but high up none the less. Seeing as I have been out of the scene for so long, I figured I would ask you all where I should point him to find a good jack to throw in the truck. If it could serve dual purposes and also lift a 5th wheel as well, that would be amazing. Thanks all in advance.

ive seen some 5th wheels with auto jacks thier used for leveling a good camping spot and changing tires they are sometimes mount ed inside [hidden] or outside on every corner check the rv stores .I got a relativly inexpensive Farm jack from harbor frieght it was on sale for 48 bucks I think they have two different lengths Mine is a 48" and it looks like a High lift jack You can buy high lift accesories and they work with it .I think Gander Mtn had High lift jacks and accesories the last time I was there or Maby it was one of the other big mall type outdoors super stores i cant wait till Cabellas opens I hear they are the best outdoors store around .Anyone hear whats holding up the new store ?

If it's stock height, and still fairly new, I might try complaining to a dodge dealer about it. Certainly couldn't hurt, and they should be providing something that can lift the vehicle in the first place.

The dodge dealer laughed at him when he said he tried to use it. They never developed one that was necessarily big enough for the height of his truck...it was bare minimum standards. I recommended to him the bottle jack, but from Craftsman.

sounds to me like a class action lawsuit or something :). If the jack can't even lift the stock vehicle enough to change a tire, that coudl put someone in a real bind... just wait until they get a flat in the middle of the desert, can't change their tire and a family dies because no help could come in time.

Yea ! They would have included a block of wood with the jack as a leveler and stable surface but when the block cracked they would have had to recall 20billion vehicals to upgrade them with new wood or stiffer wood Most of them opted to just sugest it in the owners manual if anything

Class action lawsuit against a CO in bankrupsy?
