Well, as you all have probably seen on the news about the tornado today that ripped thru the mall. Well, Russ (foxfire) and myself live not even a mile as the crow flies from the Southlands Mall. I live further west than Russ does, but still close enough that it's my community.
My little brother happens to work in Southlands, and has some crazy stories to tell about it... one involving getting up close and personal to this bastard. He opened up the stock room door as it was hitting, not knowing what was happening and looked up the middle of the thing. He's fine, his store suffered a few things damagewise but nothing too bad that'll put them out of work for a day or 2.
The Old Chicago there is my local hotspot. In there 3-4 times a week, looks like it sustained minimal damage as well. As far as the mall as a whole goes, 2-3 days it'll be back. Sadly I was at work when all of it happened and the only picture I have is from far away from everything.
More to report later, I'll find some pics, but just wanted to report in from this end of town as to how we all faired.
