Has anyone tried to buy any new iron lately? Is it just me or do gun shops go out of their way to make browsing their inventory online a hassel?
I've decided that I'm going to finally do my ccw (may have to take the class again, don't know yet) and figured I'd give myself a present and get a hammerless, snub-nosed revolver as a carry gun.
Did the research, decided on an S&W and thought: "I'll just look at a few local shops websites to see how much they are going for."
Yeah!
Its like trying to nail down a price from a car salesman!
Heres what NORMAL sites that actually want to sell their merchandise do: They put a widget for sale, post a picture of said widget... And heres what seems to be the part gun shops don't understand:
YOU POST A PRICE THAT YOU WANT FOR THE WIDGET!!!
Yes, I understand I'll have to actually go to the shop to buy it, but I don't think its too much to ask to know pricing upfront.
Take for instance this A-K man guy.
I get on his site because hes local and close to home. click on the handguns tab, click on the S&W tab and figure I'll get a listing of all the S&W handguns he has in stock. NOPE! I'm greeted with another tab saying "Click here for revolvers"
Ok, I click there and figure I'll... Again... be taken to a page with his inventory of revolvers in stock and prices. Great! Thats what I wanted.
.................................................. ................................................
Nope!
What I get is a page with stock photos of the ENTIRE LINE of S&W revolvers, that look like he just cut and pasted them off the S&W website!
No additional info other than the model numbers, no way to click on them to check his inventory, no prices, nothing!
What an idiot! And its not just him, I checked out a few other local places that had sites (Gunroom, ect.) and they all seem to go out of their way to make price checking difficult.
I guess I'll be hitting the gun show next weekend for my new toy.
Anyone have any rebutable dealers they go through? I'm open to checking them out.
Thanks
