Ok guys, I am looking for a pretty good tow rig here and it is going to be diesel. I am looking for a 94-97 Ford F350 Powerstroke diesel. Not a dually though. And preferably the 4 door version. I would like it to be in a pretty fair condition and not to much in the $ department. If you guys know any that run and are in good condition please let me know.

I would pass on the 94-95 versions unless you like the Dana 50 TTB in the front. 96 and up will havew a Dana 60.

Actually it will. It will ride better, and eat tires.

I thought the F350's those years all got straight axles up front.

I am pretty sure they are straight axle. And it is a toss up between a 95 and 97 models. I was searching craigslist and found some killer deals on those years in particular. So I may go talk to bank tomorrow and see what we can work out for a loan..

My 96 is still D50 TTB.

Funky Munky Man, in all honesty, if all you're doing is towing with it, the F350 is overkill. I was looking at them as well as the F250's, and came to the F250 because it's not overkill. It'll do everything I need it to and then some. Also, while a PSD is nice, look at the maintenance costs vs that of a 460. Keep in mind the 460 will put down the similar HP ant TQ numbers stock for stock.

soundmaster that is interesting. I have been looking at a 250 shortbed crewcab too but it also has the psd in it. But I will be towing a lot, such as my bronco or truck and maybe even a toy hauler 5th wheel. So i would like a diesel too because my gf''s dad works at the rigs and brings home red fuel everynow and again and it can run off that than fuel is pretty much free. but would it matter for the stuff I am towing if it is a 250 or 350 both with the psd's? I was just thinkin that the 350 would be a little more heavier duty just in case I need the extra payload.

they went back to straight axle sometime after 1997. I know the sd's have straight axle. if your going to be towing a fith wheel i would definitely look at a longbed and possiblly a 1 ton to give you more options.

if your lookin at a 5th wheel you will need a long bed. If all your lookin at is a goose neck the shortbed will work. as for the 250 vs. 350 thing it really makes little diffrence till ya get into the 15k+ range towing. If your lookin to haul heavy loads in the bed it will make a diffrence to. Well that my 2 cents.

Ya I am looking to haul a but load of stuff and looking for a long bed. I think I wa thinking that I wnat an f350 is cause of the solid axle. So ya. I found a 95 I like a lot and am hoping to get some idea for a loan from the bank, just need a full time job.
