Welp, the story goes like this. My dad's van died on him, old 1993 Plymouth minivan that I grew up in, yada yada yada. Got us 16 years, and close to 1/4 million miles. Unfortunately for him, he was locked into the co-signature on the Ranger, and long story short, the bank wouldn't qualify him for much in the way of a vehicle. So, it all started as a joke, I told him he could buy my Ranger from me for the payoff of the loan, and well... it became a serious conversation. He ended up taking over the Ranger loan and the Ranger, and I got myself something a little cheaper... well... pricewise a little cheaper.

Here she is. 1996 Ford F250
460
ZF-5
Brand new 295/r16/75 M/T's

She needs a couple things, the exhaust has the southern Missouri farm truck tone, tail gate is already driving me nuts, but for the most part the truck is SOLID. Larry and I went and looked at it last week, and both were shocked by how well maintained the truck was.

Yea it is! but still worth it. 460 should get about 8-10 and my 351 gets 12-14. Still aint a honda though LOL. I miss my 97 F250. I have even thought of getting rid of my 04 250 and "trading down". Nice truck Chuck

I've been granny shifting it since I got it. Shift around 2K or a little above, get up to speed then drop it to around 1K on the rpms. Dunno what I'll get mileagewise, only filled one tank last night.

I'll get an exhaust clip done up tomorrow, let everyone hear my farm truck sound.

Question, just for knowlege, not that I'll run it to that point, but where's the redline on the stock 460?

nice pickup Chuck, nice colors also, I wish my 96 had the 7.5l instead. that should be about 12 mpg average. even my 85 got that, that big block don't have to work so hard to push the weight around. hope you enjoy this one for a while

I absolutly love the truck. I haven't stopped grinning since I got it Thursday. Glad I went with the 460 over a PSD to be honest. As much as I love the PSD, the 460 is a hell of a powerplant.

I'm not planning on doing much with it as far as major mods until it's paid off, then who knows if I'll do much with it. I am planning on tinting the windows sometime this year, cleaning it up a little bit, doing a nicer sound system in it, but realistically it's gunna stay about the way it is now... with the exception of that tailgate.

Oh, and I'm also gunna find a reciever hitch to put on it since it doesn't have one, just the gooseneck plant.

You get 12-14 because the seat wont slide far enough forward for you push the gas pedal all the way to the floor.

The further down you push the gas pedal, the less 'vroom-vroom' sounds you have to make with your mouth...:glasses10:

Dont worry Chuck, you could buy another ranger and carry it around in the bed of your f-250.... If you wanna keep your status up.

Dang, sorry to hear that. I agree with Shawn, if you can, buy vehicles you can pay cash for. I haven't had a car loan payment in like 5 or 6 years... granted I don't drive real nice vehicles or anything, and the vehicles I typically buy are $3000 and below... but at least I dont have to deal with the bank! :)
