Geez, seems I just did this like a year and a half ago! LOL.
I've got to take the rollbar out, the toolbox out, and the interior out... AGAIN... so I can put in a bedrug. While I'm doing that I think I am going to take the reverse lights off my trailer hitch, and mount them on my toolbox, so I can light up the bed. I might be changing to a new brushguard to accomodate the winch, and have to run wires for the winch (2 gauge) to the front, to the rear, and also to a switch inside (FANCY!), and I'm thinking of moving the switches that are currently mounted on the steering wheel cover thing, to somewhere else a little more "hidden". I've already got an idea on what I will do for switches, just have to try to think out the whole wiring diagram for everything in my head, as well as where I will run the wiring (needs to be more efficient then previously, I just had wires spiderwebbing all over!) and all that fun stuff.
I need a garage where I can take everything apart for a few days. Maybe ORI will rent my some garage space, LOL.

Why do you have to take the interior out to install a bedrug?

I don't have to take the entire interior apart, but at least the back seat and all the trim around the back and sides. To take out the rollbar, without just clipping wires (the more times you clip/reconnect wires, the less "juice" flows through) you have to go into the interior to disconnect the wires. I did such a good job of hiding the wiring and tucking it out of the way in the interior, its a bitch to get to when you need to! LOL.

I have a garage which you can't fit in but It can store parts etc. More importantly, I have a carport on the side of my house which you can fit in. It's in Broomfield but it is available.

yeah with how cold it is and everything I really need a spot where I can park it and not have to worry about wind, cold, etc. and kind of need plenty of light and electricity etc. but thanks for the offer! Right now I'm storing most of my stuff at my parents garage, they have a two-car garage, but have only been able to park one car for as long as I can remember it! LOL.

By the way, I've tried wiring up lights when its below 30 degrees. Its tough because you can't wear gloves because you need better control of the wires, but without gloves, you can't feel your hands. Makes for an interesting experience. Ever tried warming your hand with a sauldering iron? ROFL.

Anyone have any special hookups on wire spools? I'm looking to get about 250 feet of 12-14 awg wire, preferably black.

I get 25% off McGuckin Hardware. I don't know if that would save much or not.

I don't have any hookups, but I know it's pretty cheap if you buy it in bulk at Lowe's or Home Depot. Much better pricing than going to an auto parts place, or general place like Wal-Mart.

Harbor Freight may be a possibility as well.

Where is McGuckin?
Funny enough, I just got back from the harbor freight site. They had a decent wire spool selection, but I don't need 10 kinds of wire, I need a lot of one kind of wire, LOL.

Mickey G's is up in Boulder. I don't know the street names, but I could drive there.

McGuckin's is at Arapahoe and Folsom if I remember correctly. It's a really cool store - a little bit of everything from hardware to sporting goods.

ok, wiring idiot, but whats the difference between stranded? Im not sure, I'm just looking for some basic hook-up wire. If its set up like radio wire with two wires together, that'd be awesome but I dont want the look of stereo wire.

I didn't read your post on the speaker-like wire but when I looked at McGuckin Hardware this evening, Regular electric wire in that guare runs for like $14 per 100 ft without any discounts

You want stranded Matt.

Solid would be more like you have in your house with just a solid piece of copper instead of the many small pieces braided together.

The solid would not be easy to maneuver, and is more fragile when it comes to bending, etc...

Never....Never use solid in any vehicle. It will never lat due to vibrations. The smaller the strands, the better.

ok now I know what you mean by stranded. FOr some reason when he said stranded I was thinking of twisted pair.

You could always just mount a generator in the bed and get some stadium lights. Be done with it once and for all. LOL...

Then he could fab up an "RMFTC" logo to go over the lights, and use it for meets, and such...like they did for Batman...hell, thatd be great advertising too...
