Sounds like Golden Corral is sounding like a popular idea, we can probably get a "private room" for our group, everyones meal costs exactly the same which makes it easy when figuring out the bill. Is everyone cool with that? Now another question, Golden Corral has a few locations around town. Theres one up north, around 95th and Sheridan, theres also one in Aurora and one at Missisippi near 225 (near Buckingham Square), you can see other locations at www.goldencorral.com.
Now, trying to think of a good date to do it. I'm thinking Saturday, December 18th. Hopefully that will be before people starting heading out of town for the holiday. Does this work for everyone? I figure if we go for lunch instead of dinner it might be less crowded and we might be able to save some money too. Then we could do something afterwords too.

18th works for me. Location does not matter.

Actually as far as $$ is concerned, we all pay as we enter. That way there is not splitting of anything, no concerns about seperate checks, and everyone can pay by credit card if needed.

As for the one up north, it's actually about 95th and I-25. It's just off the Thornton Parkway exit, less than 2 blocks from I-25.

yeah 95th and 25 thats what I meant. Brainfart this morning.

Well considering my location I would have to say the one in Thornton. The 18th works for me, and I'd drive to Aurora if necessary but I'll warn ya, I'd drive the car if I went that far. Damn gas prices.....

The 18th works for me and the misses. I've been to the one off of mississippi, its clean and the people were friendly. I haven't been to the one in Thorton, but since the last meet was on the south side of I-70 I vote this one for the northside.

OK lets plan on the thornton location then. I'll try to call them once they open up and make arrangements.

By the way, if there is anyone from Colorado Springs wanting to go, but you don't want to make the trek, I'll personally volunteer to drive you up here and then back again. I don't want anyone to miss it.

I'll check to see about the 18th, but if I can make it, I would vote for the one up north for sure. I know it's a bit nicer than the one down in Saudi Aurora, and the staff is much more friendly than the staff up in Longmont.

Oh geez, tell them to reschedule! LOL.
How about the 19th? I'd like to accomodate as many as possible...

I know, and I feel like the one that has things changed to fit me...if things work better for the 18, I'll be fine with it. I don't want things just changed for me...often. lol

If the date needs to be changed to the 19th that would work for me as well.

The 19th is fine. I get off work at 5pm in Boulder.

Im scared that Jeff knows the prices, LOL j/k.
I'm going to call GOlden Corral today (they haven't opened up yet) and see how late they are open on Sunday. Maybe we can set it up around 5:30 or 6, that way hopefully everyone can make it.
Rob, if you don't make it, I will beat your ass. LOL.

I've been there past 8 before on a Sunday, so I know they're open at least that late, but don't know exactly when.

And yes, I started eating much, much earlier than that, but finished up at 8.

As for Jeff and the prices on Colfax, he's just lucky they finally took his picture down from here....

Well heres the scoop on the golden corral situation.
I called, and they do have a seperate room, but they are unwilling to "reserve" it to us, because they are such a busy location (and I called two other Golden Corral's and got pretty much the same story) they only reserve the room for parties of 50 or more, and they only do it Monday through Thursday, and only for lunch, not for dinner. Not only that, but in order to seat us all together, we all have to be present at the same time, and they won't set aside tables in advance for us, its kind of "if we're lucky enough to all get there at the same time, we might get to sit together" kind of deal.
So, in other words, I'm still trying to think of some other alternatives. If you think of something, let me know. I'm still ok with Golden COrral as an idea, but the way they seemed to tell me how busy they were, I wouldn't count on us being together or it being a very enjoyable experience.

Another idea is a place like Fuddruckers. We can all sit together, everyone pays up front but its not like cheesy fast food or anything, enjoyable atmosphere, etc. True its not all-you-can-eat though, LOL.

I'm up for anywhere, on either date (preferibly the 19th).

Tray

Actually, with the ability to order the 1.5 pound burger at Fuddruckers, I'm pretty sure it's All-You-Can-Eat for most people.

That's pretty ghetto of GC to say that, but I guess I understand where they're coming from.

There is a Fuddruckers right near my house, and there is a Fuddruckers up near 120th and I-25 as well. I'd be ok with Fuddruckers, but if its near my apartment, I know a spot we can all park at to get a good group picture, LOL. I'm cool with Westminster too, don't matter much to me.

UrbanCowboy

Fuddruckers would be fine. I think I may have been there once.... Oh yeah, I went there on my business trip to Atlanta.

Tray

There's also one down on 225 and Mississippi, although I'd prefer the one on 120th and Pennsylvania.

Fuddruckers is fine, I'm almost as easy as Chris, but I go for about 4 1/2 bucks.

Fuddruckers is okay with me as well. Good to know I'm still the easiest... :?

If we decide on the fudruckers on 120th, I'll try to find a good scenic spot to get a picture

come on yall what is up? what about colorado springs? yall forget about us down south?

mattadams
12-02-2004, 08:02 AM
dannan, like I said, the last time we had a meet in Colorado SPrings, no one from teh Springs showed. I offered to give rides to people that iddn't want to drive all teh way from Colorado Springs :). I'm totally up for having a meet in the Springs area, but I think for the Christmas Party best to have it where the "majority" of folks can make it, but I am doing my best (at my own expense) to accomodate everyone else I can.

MMPC
12-02-2004, 08:07 AM
Yeah, I have to agree with Matt, Dannan. I think if we had some assurance that several people from the Springs would show, we'd have no problem making the trek. But that doesn't seem to happen too frequently. :( Perhaps you can talk to some of those slackers down there and encourage them to show. Or - better yet - plan an event yourselves and invite the Denver-folk! I, for one, would most definitely make the trip down there - I like the Springs... :)
