**Update** got an alternator (thanks John ) from a freind of mine 180 amp from a ford a buddy at western belting got me new high speed berrings for it and a different pully now all i got to do is hook it up to my 15hp electric motor and get the tig handle all set up so hopefuly soon ..

I saw that article a little while ago and thought about it but didn't have any of the components to make it happen. Let us know if it works. Who knows, we each maybe able to have our own welders.
