I emailed Carl Miron with Colorado OffRoad Extreme asking about when for sure he is going to open that 800 acre park.
I told him that some members were very interested in seeing what it is like, so hopefully he emails back soon to state the opening date.
Who all would be interested? I know that jeff and cory showed interest.

mattadams
11-21-2004, 05:47 PM
I would be interested, though probably riding as passenger with someone if they don't mind. For right now, just not ready to go beat it p off-road ye, I'm still paying off the thousands in mods, LOL.

This is the email response from Carl Miron, the owner of the park--

"Ryan thanks for the e-mail I am hoping to do a partial opening this weekend
but I will not know for sure till later in the week. please check my web
site in a day or two to find out. we are still trying to get a couple of
things worked out in order to open."

I might try and go out there this weekend.

I was reading through the "rules" and it says "Helmets are required at all times for anyone driving on the off road track. " and All off-road vehicles must have mufflers." I'm screwed on the muffler part, that sucks, and I wonder if they supply helmets. Also has anyone heard about a cost for the park?

mattadams
11-22-2004, 07:49 AM
The muffler rule is probably more for the obnoxious vehicles. For example, when I went out to Silver Lake Michigan a few years back they had a muffler requirement, but they also had a decibal requirement. If you didn't have a muffler, as long as it was under a certain decibal level, you were fine. It's more the dirt bikes and ATV's and stuff that really get annoyingly loud without a muffler... but I don't want to quote rules for a guy I dont know... LOL.

cory
11-22-2004, 07:53 AM
cant wait count me in, that guy told me that there would be lots of mudd so jeff you just might get to pull me out yet.

Depending on cost, this sounds like an outing I just have to make. Now to see if I can find a sitter.

Walking Eagle
11-22-2004, 08:28 AM
I was reading through the "rules" and it says "Helmets are required at all times for anyone driving on the off road track. "

When I read that rule and as I looked through the website, I thought the off road track was a special course. More for racing. But helmets were not needed for other parts such as playing in the mud or following the trails. I guess we need to e-mail the guy and find that out. I also would like to know the cost.

Tray
11-22-2004, 08:30 AM
I'm sure I could borrow the helmet from my daughter's bike to make the requirement. They didn't say anything about it fitting properly did they?

rino351
11-22-2004, 03:05 PM
Well, I emailed him again about the questions you guys had. We'll see what he has to say.

rino351
11-22-2004, 06:28 PM
okay, here is the latest email response:

"Ok first cost will be $20 per vehicle and driver spectators are $5 we will
have season passes at a later date but not this year as it is almost over.
Next: helmets are required on the off road track because speeds may reach
close to 100 mph if you are not on the track or in a competition you will
not have to wear helmets but it is a good idea to have them just in case
they are needed. as long as it is not excessive noise and we do not get
complaints we wont be to concerned about mufflers. I hope I answered all
your questions." -Carl Miron (C.O.R.E.)

Tray
11-23-2004, 07:49 AM
No chance in hell I'm getting my truck close to 100 mph, so I know I'm safe with the helmet thing.

Now to find $20.

11-23-2004, 08:08 AM
Rino, did you tell him about the club? I saw his truck but didn't get a chance to talk to him at Toys 4 Tots, maybe he'd be interested in being a member here, though I can imagine hes a busy dude. Looks like an interesting place.

Tray
11-23-2004, 11:23 AM
Is his truck the black SD shown on their website?

Hey Matt, even if he doesn't become a member, this sounds like the perfect place for some fliers to attract new members.

mattadams
11-23-2004, 11:26 AM
yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I think I'm taking tomorrow off so I might take some time and work on a flier that would be better to "hand out" at various things.

rino351
11-23-2004, 04:07 PM

Glass
11-24-2004, 09:18 PM
This place will be great till people start moving out to that area, building houses there, knowing there is an offroad park RIGHT NEXT to them, and then start bitching about the 'excessive noise and dangerous traffic'. Hopefully the suburban outsprawl wont reach there for a while, so people can enjoy it for a while.

OK where to start: thanks for the info on this site just signed up so I will try to answer as many questions as possible. First I would be honored to join your club though dont know how many meetings I can attend please let me know what I need to do. Second I would like to say thanks for all the interest in my park, it seems that everyone Iv'e talked to has had a lot of fun out there, you can read lots about it at wwwcolorado4x4.org in the trips posts. Next if you have flyers you want to hand out just bring them out and we will hand them out. Next: the cost for the park is twenty dollars per truck riders are free. The moto cross tracks are a seperate company and are not open yet should be ready by the end of the month, any questions on moto cross goe to my web site and click on the moto cross page and contact Wendell he is the owner of TRW MX Ranch and he is who you need to talk to about that. If you have any more questions you can post up on here or pm me or e-mail me at carl@coloradooffroadextreme.com Thanks again, Carl

Carl, welcome to the club! Was it your truck that we saw at Toys 4 Tots, the big black one witht he Skyjacker lift? If so, nice right. Glad to have you aboard. I'd love to have some fliers for the club, etc. handed out there, let me know what you'd like or what you'd be willing to do and I'll get you what I can.
If you could put up a flier or something at CORE, that'd be awesome. Here's one I created a while back that is still good:

Nothing special, but gets the point across. I can also get you some business cards, etc.
Let me know if you want me to list you on the "Friends of RMFTC" page here: http://rmftc.com/friends.html

I just realized, I didn't get any pictures of Jeff, Dom, or (sorry, don't remember your name) silver F150
Congrats Jeff, for being the only one not to get stuck.
Thanks Carl, for having this place, and letting us use your grill.
I can't wait to go back!!
Dom, get your Jeep going! LOL

Actually I drove home under my own power. The engine dried out while we stopped to eat lunch.

I have a lot of pics figuring away t o post them. I had a blast out there other than my truck died at I 70 and Colfax. I had to have my grandpa pick us up and get a new battery, i think a blew my alternator. I made it home only after 4 hours of work on it on the side of the road. oh well had fun during the day.

Pay the price for fun

I thought I killed the alternator yesterday. Lost all electrical power, and then was unable to start the truck out at CORE. After we stopped for lunch and Cory worked on his carburetor for an hour or two, we jump started my truck and everything started working again.

By the way I had your spare tire with me yesterday, but forgot all about.

At least you were getting paid. I was bored out of my mind in Grand Junction and I wasn't paid a dime. Maybe we need a support group.
