Hey all newbie here. Been a Ford truck fan as long as I can remember & that is tied with being a Jeep fan. First driving, go fast & 4 wheeling experiences can be attributed to my dads 1970 Jeep Wagoneer with slightly built 350 in it.

First truck I bought was a 1970 F100 2WD with a 302 & T-18 tranny, that my dad & I owned together. Bought from a farmer for $750 as I needed a vehicle while replacing Tranny in my 74 CJ5. We drove that truck everywhere & hauled more weight than we thought possible in at times. Eventually pulled the engine & tranny & swaped in a 360 & a C6, completet with popwer steering. Eventually I bought a 1992 F250 as I needed a 4WD /tow vehicle/winter vehicle.

Three years ago or so a cousin gave us a rolled 1970 4WD & we had the great idea of getting some parts & building a big 4WD out of it. So we had this wrecked 4wd truck sitting in the side yard along with some 3/4 ton axles, a bed & some other stuff & ended up buying a complete 72 2WD for the cab, front fenders & engine. After getting all these parts I said you know dad it would be alot easier to buy the truck we wanted than to take the next 5 years to build this one & mom might not kill you. We also needed to get the junk outta the yard due to my sister getting married & not wanting either her or mom to freak out about the pile of parts. So we started selling everything off & were able to get the big pieces out of the yard & hide everything else.

A friend calls me & says hey I looked at this truck, I don't want it but I think its what you are looking for. Guy is asking $3000 for it but told me he would take $1800 as his wife wants it gone. Went & looked at the truck a 1972 F250 Highboy with a 360 (wouldn't start), 4spd tranny, 3 in body lift (not put on correctly), new paint (not done real well), 36 in tires (with dry rot), dual exhaust (rusted out almost). Dad offered him $1200 & the guy said heres the title wheres the $$. Towed it home with the 92 2 days before sisters wedding (she was pleased). Replaced the front seat with one from a 91, put a 19 gal gas tank in fender in front of wheel under bed (previous owners wife didn't like son riding around in cab w/ gas tank behind seat), put edelbrock 4 bl manifold & carb on, correctly bolted on body lift, installed reciever hitch, got windows tinted & started driving it.

Now we had to sell the 2 2WDs as we now had 4 trucks. Last year sold the F100 & was sad to see it go. Although they screwed up the engine somehow & brought it to our mechanic & abandoned it so we might get it back. Still have the 72 for sale (see classifieds)

Anyway thats my story & what I got. If I can figure out how to post pics I will put a few up.

when u get ready to sell the highboy let me know.

Will never happen. My nephew (who is 9) is looking forward to driving it. He wanted to drive the 70 & cried when we sold it.

Sorry 84bronco, while we live on a corner lot with plenty of parking think my mom would shoot us if any more vehicles showed up. At one time we had 9 vehicles around the house & only 3 drivers. Fortunately our neighbors like us.
