i drove it today. i had all that tacked up with an ancient arc welder friday night and used a nice Lincoln Mig welder to weld it up solid.
there's no shocks and i need to somehow get the rest of the air out of the p/s system.. so between little to no power assist it was a pretty epic journey.. that and when i got on it, then put the clutch in to shift the truck would want to shoot into the other lane haha
shocks should be here from Trail-gear tuesday or wednesday.

How does compare to the previous lift...similar height etc?
I know I asked you about the RCD a long time ago when you were looking for the kingpin 60 but whats up with it?

i wanted a 60 but i had a chance to do the SAS in school. and funds were kinda tight so i went with the D44 because i got gears and shit for cheap.
as for height, i put on longer shackles than you see in the picture, so the steering clears the springs a little better, it sits a few inches higher than when the RCD was new and un abused..

this is what i had before i did the steering, i only got regular spacers for the heims on the steering, but i need high mis alignment spacers on the pitman arm, i dont want it to bind up and break that bitch off..

Too bad you couldn't source one of those T&T trusses. They prototyped the one in this pic, could probably set the coil buckets where you asked.

Oh well, you could always do more later. This looks pretty sturdy as it is.

if it puts a smile on your face then the project was worth it right?
oh yea, after going over enough bumps and turning enough on the street my power steering decided it would burp up all the air :D so now i have power steering again
except something is squeaking and its driving me crazy lol, i think its the heim on the intermediate shaft..
i think this is my new favorite picture.. soon to be replaced by it all flexed out..

i may need to pick one of those up for the 9" i have laying on the porch..
and it should stand up to my abuse, i need to box the shackles in and get some high misalignment spacers for the drag link before i do too much..

Looking good, now that it has been on for a bit...how is it holding up? have you put it to work yet? street driving ok?

now with the bump stops i have no up travel.. so dips in the road make me slow down instead of speed up
the shocks and bump stops definitely made a HUGE difference though, no more wobble in the steering or any more cases of death wobble. UHM, i need to get cross over steering even though i don't have much bump steer, i just want less of an angle coming off the pitman arm and due to the spool hydro assist is going to be going on pretty soon as well
it turns a LOT sharper than it did with the IFS and i've got it to the point where the tires are having to slip sideways in parking lots. idk if its a good thing or not lol
i've been wanting to take it out and flex it out but i dont have anyone to pull me out when i get stuck again
