As we all know "the other site" is looking for a new Colorado Chapter President. I know how we all feel about the site, but I think it is important to keep the chapter going for several reasons. I know that several of us go on road trips and use people from the other site to stay at their homes or hang out with then we are traveling. I feel that it would be rude to cut these opportunites off from people visiting us. The second reason is since the summer we have had several people move to and from Colorado. It is nice to keep intouch with these people, and have them involved in our group, whether we do it as FTW or RMFTC. I don't agree with the management over there, but dealing with school and work I have become good at gritting my teeth and bearing with shit that happens. Don nominated me to be the president and I said I would do it. Matt, I'll need a few tips on some of the shit to do. Let me know what you guys think.
as acting prez overthere i think you should buy the beer. damn i cant spell today

Dom, I voted yes. You should go ahead. I'm sure many people from here and there will participate in both forums as many already do.

Not blaming you at all Don. And I understand your reasons for not doing it yourself. Also no blame will be placed by me on anyone at anytime, I'm not the management

Dom, I personally would have no problem with you trying to be the president over there. I've never tried to oppose anyone from joining there, etc. I just personally can't stand the management of the site. Heck if nothing else it would be good to have a president that could also direct folks here... if you know what I mean... ;).
Anyways, if you want it, go for it. It's your call.
Just don't stop spending time over here or I'll have to beat your ass. LOL.

Matt I read your post and agree with you 100%. Like I said before I see other reasons to keep the chapter going, and those are pretty much the only reasons.
Go for it. Shit, someone has to do it, and if you still enjoy the site, then why not.

Sounds like a good opportunity to me. Go for it, but have the six folks join by Dec. 2 :wink:

Here is my email exchange with Mike... he hasn't responded since last night, so who knows what there discussing in their huddle... in standard email fashion, the last response is at the top, the first email is at the bottom....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I just wanted attention, why would I resign from the position I had held for 3+ years? I resigned, and I stand by my resignation. I don't intend to go back on it, as you seem to think I will. When I make a statement, I stand behind it. Unlike "you will receive a shirt if you subscribe for 3 years" and "this will be a magazine by and for the members", I actually do what I say I will.
To be honest with you, I called about half my members, basically everyone I had a working phone number for and asked their opinion. Everyone I wasn't able to contact by phone, I emailed, and asked for input a good 3-4 weeks before my resignation. The reason I didn't mention in my resignation thread about passing the torch to another president, is because of the members I spoke with, no one wanted the job, everyone was as disgusted as I was. If the chapter stays alive, great, I would prefer it. I think Dom will do a great job as president. But if it doesn't, its not the end of the world. Since my resignation, our club has had several meets including two mod days and we are very actively planning a toys-4-tots event this weekend, a thanksgiving BBQ the following weekend and a roadtrip to Cabelas the following weekend. Which goes to proove, that theres a lot that goes on in a group of friends, besides talking on a forum.
And do you want to know why I was bitching about not being in the magazine? Because for all the years I helped FTW, for allt he work I've done for the site and all the promotion I've done for it, I don't even have a "readers rig" with my info on it. And I've submitted it several times. In no uncertain terms, I've been told by Duke that because I can't seem to keep my mouth shut about how I dislike the fact that every FTW magazine I receive is mutilated and because I do open my mouth about how I don't like the direction FTW is heading, that nothing of mine will ever be put in his magazine.
And don't get me wrong here. I don't have a problem with you either. I even don't have a problem with how things went on FTW with my resignation, etc. I just think its unfair to make accusations about someones lack of leadership, etc. unless you know the whole story, which hopefully now you do.
And I'm sure Chris and many of the other staff members will give the same line they do often, "if you have problems with the site, why are you still here?". Well for several years, FTW was literally, the most important thing in my life. We've all made a lot of great friends because of the site and I continue to make more and more. I still direct people to the site if they are wanting to join a good online truck community. I still have a FTW sticker (though I took it off for the SEMA show because Skyjacker was paying for the spot on my windshield, LOL) and I still, honestly, love FTW. I think it's great. A lot fo my initial aggrevations when I resigned were just that, aggrevations that got a little out of control. Not sure if you ever read the other thread I started, called "Matt Adams comes down from the mountains" but it was an awesome experiecne. The week I was having so many frustrations with the site, I went up and took 4 days in the mountains. No internet access. Just basic TV. Time with good friends. I came back a renewed man, and was able to shift focus. The only thing that bothered me about your post was the somewhat personal attacks against myself that, as verified by my members before I even found the thread, simply weren't true.
By the way, since I'm sure this will get forwarded to the rest of the staff, hi Chris! hi Mike! Hi other Mike and other Mike! Hey Dan! Howdy Josh! Hope life is treating all of you well!
In reference to your post: It wasn't my opinion of you. it was my interpretation of the post you made regarding your resignation. I never received any emails from you with your plan. So the other members of FTW that didn't attend the meet were you discussed your intention only know what you typed. I assumed that since I hadn't heard from you that you were looking for attention as you usually do so I didn't bother to do anything till I read the post were you were crying about not being able to get into FTW magazine and you pointed out that you still had CO chapter president on your profile so I fixed that for you and took the initiative to get the people of the CO chapter on track to replace you.
In your thread located here.
You didn't mention any type of plan to help the CO members transition to a new president. I locked that thread to preserve the messages you initially posted because your point was already made and there was no further posting needed on that topic as it stated what you intended plus I know you have been known to go back in the threads to change your initial posts.
Keep in mind I personally have no problem with you whatsoever so this isn't an attack on you and I would appreciate it if you handle this as responsibly as you can. You know exactly what you were up to with your resignation and now there is no turning back from that.
That's funny.
It's not my opinion, but you do this.
I have no problem with you, but you do this.
This isn't a personal attack, but you've been known to do this.
So do they all know about this site yet?
They haven't made it known to me yet that they know of the site, but they might, tough to guess. I had RMFTC stickers on the truck and they all saw the truck at SEMA, so its not like I'm trying to hide it.
I'll re-instate any members that need be. This is a joke, but I still see my reasons as being good to keep it going.
Dom is going to ban the rest of us as soon as he takes over.
