I don't think he's ashamed... I think its just a case of selective omitting. Figure it this way:

Imagine you have two sons.

One grows up, goes to Harvard and becomes a doctor.

The other grows up to become a cross-dressing prostitute that drives a Honda Ridgeline.


When someone asks if you have kids, you won't necessarily "deny" you have two sons... You'll just selectively omit some information:


"Yeah, I have two kids... Hey, my sons a doctor!"


And you leave it at that unless your pressed for more info. The other person is left to assume that both kids are doctors or politely decide not to ask about the other kid, or whatever, but the bottom line is... You never have to bring up the Honda Ridgeline.

I've owned both, and still kind of do. The Ranger is going to sit in a garage for the rest of its life, and the Bronco should be on the road again in a month or two. Shows which one is worthy.

By the way, these guys can come in handy with classic bronco stuff. Don't worry, I already made fun of them about the California thing.
