I've scooped some screamin deals lately. Two from the classifieds here involve the bandsaw I got from Warrlord, and the tool box I got from Starkman.
Even though the little Ranger is already scratched up, I didn't want to drill holes in the bed to mount the toolbox. I took a simple idea and adapted it to mount the toolbox, and feasibly to mount cargo tie-downs.
Very simple idea: I took some 1 & 1/2" by 3/8" thick steel strap, cut, bent, drilled, and tapped. I ground two of the bolts to a point so that I could mark where I wanted to drill the toolbox after I had it positioned. After the box was drilled, I flipped the bolts and use them to hold the box down.
The strap:

The brackets:

Drilled and ready to mount:

Removing the box should take all of 5 minutes. I'll make tie-down brackets to bolt to the mounts for hauling stuff.
