For those who aren't familiar with Amsoil, its an oil that is specially designed to run in your vehicles around 15,000-25,000 miles, rather then the 3,000-5,000 miles of standard oils. Amsoil also makes filters for this "long term use", air filters, and a lot of other things :). If I remember right they make tranny fluids and so forth as well.
Because Mike Trost owns a V10 superduty, he can be (and soon will be I'm sure) a member of RMFTC as well. He lives up in Brighton, so you might have to go drive up there to get the goods, but hopefully the "deal" will make it worth it :).

I'm sure it'd definitely be worth the 2 or 3 minute drive from my house

So now - does anyone actually use Amsoil?

Heath ran his for about 20,000 miles if I remember right, I just recently changed it for him since I was his jiffy lube from the beginning til he moved to idaho (I just got back) and it still looked good. I plan on using it on mine at the next oil change!

Yup, I've been running it... Mine kind of fell in my lap... I got a case for doing a good deed... And now I think I'm a convert... Mainly becuase its cheaper than buying and changing oil every 5K!!! And I have to admit the truck seems to pur a bit better at idle too... I may even switch over Taras car too... Not sure yet though...

Well, I think as soon as the warranty period is over, I'll most likely be switching as well. I doubt Ford would honor much coverage if I told them I was only changing my oil every 20000 miles.

Just the fact that I don't have to remember but once a year would be worth it for me.

sounds good... I realized that I still have one case of Mobil 1 oil left, so next oil change I'll use that up, and then after that I"m going to switch to Amsoil and see how I like it :).

Damn, looks like I'd better get to work and see if I can get a local guy here to give us a discount... Unless maybe Mike knows someone or can look someone up here and make a call... As soon as I get my cards and stickers there should be a few sign ups here in the area for the board... There are a lot of nice Fords around here...
