Finally getting some interviews!

Well, I guess some of my hard work is finally paying off. Having passed the CISSP, and getting past the Labor Day doldrums, I'm finally getting calls for interviews. Got four today alone from Lockheed, Ciber, Raytheon and a smaller gig which I turned down. The other three are working on scheduling me in for either phone screens or face-to-face interviews over the next week, so things are starting to look better for my employment prospects. Wish me luck on these.

I'll give you some interview advice, take it or leave it if you'd like... but it worked ok for me, worked to get me re-hired with my company, and has worked for other people I know, so here it is...

relax.

Seriously, relax. Don't overthink things, don't get nervous. Just look at it like a conversation with the person you may be working with as if you were out to lunch, etc.

Had a good phone call from CIBER yesterday, they're looking at me for their global security group. It was just a normal conversation, which is why it went well, I felt very comfortable with them. Waiting to hear back from Lockheed about a follow-up from them. Just got off the phone with Raytheon, didn't go well. Second time with them in 9 months, they're clueless in Aurora. Have an interview with TekSystems tomorrow for gigs in the Springs, will see how that goes.

Wish you the best on them,,, my wife used to work for Ciber they are a pretty decent company. I work with all them on my job so I get to hear a lot of things about each company. Hope one of them hooks you up.
