Another post here inspired me to start this thread asking a simple question..
Why do you own a truck anyways? They sure do eat gas.

I four wheel all summer long on any trail I can find which does not require a rock buggie.

All of the above.

I need something to haul, thus the truck.
I need something that will take me off-road, thus the 4x4 option.
I have a big family (3 kids), thus the need for crew cab option.
I need a daily driver for work, use like a car.
I tow a trailer a few times a year, need something that has a hitch.

I consider that using it as a car. If you're not going to use a truck as a truck, then get a car. Hauling is for like dirt or construction and towing is like a boat.

well I have a car as well... LOL.
I'm 6' 8" so most cars dont suit my needs.
To be honest though, I think i use mine for a little of everything, though I've only towed one thing with it (my explorer, it failed miserably at the task as well), but I do haul stuff quite frequently, and even with its pretty paint job its still going to see some 4-wheeling action... but for the most part, I like my truck because I think its beautifal... and I've done the four-wheeling thing before, hell I've done some of the hardest trails in Moab without taking bypasses, and some of the hardest trails in Colorado, but I got sick of constantly fixing broken parts, adding more and more dents, etc. and it just started to get old after a while. not to say its not fun, but a lot bigger drain on the ol pocketbook.

I use mine for everything, as it is my only vehicle.
I love 'wheelin it too.

Well my Escape won't ever see the kind of off-roading I used to do in my Explorer - I think it would fall apart.:D For my current purposes, however, it suits me just fine. Mostly I use it to haul my video equipment for work and my bicycles and other people for fun. It's still nice having a capable truck-like vehicle though. The 4x4 will keep me going during most winter conditions and I can still tackle some light off-road trails (aka dirt roads! ;)).

I agree with Tray

It's my VEHICLE dude!

It's got a lot of nice features on top of being my daily driver!

and I can throw a load of shit in it if I need ... literally - like when I do my garden!

Tonight I used mine to do donuts and burnouts...usually i use it to haul around tools, car parts, and drive around crashed tourists during ski season. Its an all need truck. I used it to push some big ass forklift from the 70's up a hill the other week, that was fun...But, mostly, i use it to learn how to fix it.
