Hello everyone, My name is John, and I hail from Arvada, Colorado (about 10-15 minutes northwest of Denver). I came across this forum through The Ranger Station, which lead to the Ranger Power Sports Forum, to here.
Figured I'd swing by and give a hearty hello from Arvada.
Her are some pics of my 1996 Ford Ranger:

Those are just some of the shots I have. Am I in the right area to post pictures of rides?
Anyway, thanks for taking a look at my truck, and I hope to get a chance to get to know some fellow owners.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes and compliments on my Ranger. I really appreciated them.
Like I told people on other forums, this truck rarely sees mud, or any offroading, because it's my only vehicle that I own, and my job doesn't exactly pay well, so I don't like to run the risk of breaking something, or whatever on trails or anything of the sort. It's mostly a pavement pounder, but it sure is a pretty one at that (at least thats what the ladies tell me :D )
I was wondering, does the club have any, well, I call them "show and shine" days? Since I always keep this thing clean and I rarely take it on any trails, I wouldn't mind coming to days where all that is done is just bring your truck for show, and just shoot the breeze with fellow Ford owners. If you guys have any days like that, I'd sure like to come to something like that.
Once again, thanks for the welcome, and the compliments.

We do some shows, mainly in the summer, and then lots of times we'll just get together to hang out, show off vehicles, enjoy comraderie, etc.
Don't worry, while my truck will probably see Saxon Mtn (the trail we adopted, between Georgetown and Idaho Springs) it won't see much other wheeling trails. It will probably see some shows though :).
I keep meaning to take it to a Sonic one of these nights, I've heard htey get a lot of enthusiasts together occasionally, can't remember the day. Been meaning to show off my new paint! :)
Welcome! Nice looking truck! :D
Yup, Sonic is always on Friday nights. The one on 95th and Federal seems to have the biggest gathering. People come from all over town to show off, check out rides, and shoot the shit.
After the 4 hours it took to get the mud off my truck yesterday, I've seriously contemplated giving up the off-roading, but as I keep getting closer and closer to that warranty expiring, I've been putting the rig through a lot more of a workout.

That's sounds awesome. I'd love to attend some shows, and participate in some good old-fashioned comraderie :D
I'll definately be here often to check on upcoming showings and what not.
Thanks for the info Matt

Yeah I'm that kind of person. I like mine clean and shiny....all the compliments I get gives me a nice good ego boost :D
Plus like I said, I can't really do any off-roading at all since this truck my ONLY vehicle, and my job doesn't exactly pay the best, so I figure I should just try and keep the truck on the pavement, and keep it clean (for the time being anyway )
I want to throw a lift on it, and put some 33s on it as well. As for when that happens has yet to be determined. I know I'll have to save A LOT of money thats for sure :?
So in the meantime, it'll be my "asphalt angel", "pavement princess" or what have you :P

My primer shines....well...when it snows and then ice forms on it, then it kinda gleams some...but thats about it.... Once i get a few things done to it, ill show it off though, but it still wont be shiney. B&M just put out a blower kit for the 351 / 400 engine, i think after i get a blower on my 53, i might look into a setup for my 79

John, I'm at 120th and I-25. Funny you said "pavement princess" a little known fact to some of the newer members is our fearless leader's nick name or as we used to call him our little "Princess"

Hey. Welcome aboard. We definitely have our fair share of fun and though I don't drive a ford, I'm here by association, haha. I have a Jeep Liberty that goes along on most of the trips. Welcome again, and we look forward to seeing you on some of our excursions.

Glass:  haha that's great! Go go gadget shiny primer! A blower setup for the 351/400? nice! There's a supercharger kit for my little beast that I think BBK makes that I want to get, but like I had said earlier, money doesn't exactly grow on trees for me :( On the other hand, I think I'd wait to Supercharge until I did a V8 conversion for my Ranger, of which I understand isn't that bad to do really, since there are a number companies that make adapters/parts for such a conversion....A pipedream for now, but someday though, someday....*imagines a 5.0L V8 Supercharged in his truck  *
CntyCowgirl: Oh, I SUPPOSE one Jeep won't hurt :P . From what I've gathered, Liberties have a pretty rock-solid drivetrain (by the way, I work at a Dodge dealership, so I get to work on those once in a while, since Dodge/Jeep is part of Chrysler). And thank you for the warm welcome.
CntyCowboy: I used to go to a bar a while back that was up that way called the "Silverbullet Saloon" that a FORMER friend of mine's half-brother's dad owns (off of 120th and Colorado-ish I think). There was also a karaoke bar off of 120th and Pecos that I used to go to as well. Also, note to self, Matt is "Princess" :P

I work at John Elway Dodge on Arapahoe Road and Havana. I can see if I can pull a few strings and get some hook-ups. I also know two guys that work at the Burt Ford about a block West of here. They used to work here as Service Writers. One of them is still a Service Writer and the other is the Service Manager there. I'm acutally going to be going over there next week to get some brake pads when I get paid on Moday, so I'll talk to them and see what I can do...
*cringes at thought of ban button*....

John Elway Dodge Huh? Cntrycowgirl (Jen) works at The nissan store up on 104th.
So she's one of those rip-off bastards.

John Elway Nissan? One of my good friends is a tech at that dealership.
Yeah, the salesmen are lying no-good rotten bastards.
Jcmichalik2
11-16-2004, 08:06 AM
Yeah most car salesman are that way...the one that sold me my truck ripped me off pretty bad. Some of them here as well, that are jack-arses, but there are some that are actually decent (few and far between though :? )

OK OK OK. Give me a chance to defend myself. I'm actually in accounting. I do all the behind the scenes work in the office. As for car salesmen, I can't lie. They just pay my bills and I am their slave.

By the way, which tech is your friend, I'm sure I know him. In fact, my ex bosses are over at Dodge on Arapahoe in the Business Office now. Good luck, lol.

My friend is named Jeremy Oldham. He drives a big ass Dodge 2500 that's Blue (and silver I think), of which he actually bought from us.
No, none of those comments were directed towards you (not intentionally anyway, so I didn't mean any offense)
Some of your ex-bosses are at my work eh? May I ask their names?
cntrycowgirl
11-16-2004, 10:16 PM
yeah, i know Jeremy. He and his girlfriend have gone wheeling with us at least once. He is a sweet guy.
No offense taken. I've worked in the car business for 3 years now so I have becomed hardened to it.
The girls names are Patty and Sabrina.
Jcmichalik2
11-17-2004, 07:52 AM
Yeah he is a cool guy. His girlfriend (her name is Amber) used to work alongside me in the Quick-Lube here, and then she did some cashiering here for a little bit and then left.
Sabrina huh? I really REALLY don't like her....she's a *bleep* and Patty, well, can't say anything about her, because I never have talked to her.

Yeah I think Yellow is pretty cool. You don't see a whole lot of yellow trucks around.
I dare to be different. I like to be unique. Theres only one other Ranger in my neighborhood thats yellow, and the same body style, but he doesn't have any mods done to his.
Thanks for the welcome Dave.
