Heath Ledger KICKED ASS... Honestly if I didn't know he was playing the part I wouldn't have known it was him... WoW... Overall the show was good but I felt it was a little to spiderman 3 for me in the fact that they cramed WAY to much crap into one movie... Granted it was over 2 hours, but still... There were a couple of good places to stop, but they didn't... It just kept going... It was a good show overall... But damn did they cover a lot of stuff... I think I need to see it again to soak it all in...

HOLY CRAP - WE AGREE!!! 100% even!!! I said the EXACT SAME THING to Amy last night. WTF? This has to be a first!

Overall I thought it was a very good movie as well - although MUCH darker than the first one. I guess that is implied in the title though. ;) Still, I feel sorry for parents that take their kids and realize it's very much NOT a kids' movie. Amy was very surprised when I told her it was rated PG-13 and not R.

We went to the late show with a group of about 20 people and everyone seemed somewhat "shell shocked" at the end. With so much going on, it did become a bit difficult to follow at times and the ending felt more like a relief than a tidy conclusion.

Heath Ledger is excellent as the Joker - much more sadistic than Nicholson's - although I don't think anyone would be talking Oscar if he hadn't died. As for the rest, the gadgets are all there, the stunts/FX are excellent and overall it's a good ride. Just don't go expecting to feel happy at the end - did I mention it's DARK? :p

I thought it was fantastic. I'll say this, typically I'm a fan of the villan because of the fact they're not that freaky... even if they're a little messed in the head... except for this one. The Joker freaked the living crap out of me. The way he went about things in such a subtle but planned and organized fashion got to my head. There was one scene (not ruining it, those who've seen it know it) where all you see is his face with a black background... the creepiest scene in a movie I've seen in a long time. That may in fact bug me for a few days.

Fantastic movie, I liked it, but it's not my favorite movie of the summer. That goes to Wanted.

That settles it, soundmaster - we're movie incompatible. ;) Just like me and Heath - for most movies.

The creepy scene you talked about was inspired by this - I have no doubt. The subliminal flashes of this face in "The Exorcist" still creep me out:

EDIT: Hmm, even the makeup is damn similar. Interesting...

I seem to recall that of all the movies Heath, Chris and I ever watched together we only all ever agreed that we liked one movie... and I seem to recall it was a John Travolta movie, of all choices, LOL.

I'm a tough critic, don't get me wrong... this one did creep me out though. The worst movie's I've seen have to be the Resident Evil movies... they pissed me off more than anything.

That must be because you've never watched "Biker Boyz" ROFL.

Oh yeah, "Battlefield Earth." That was great...

HUH??? A John Travolta movie??? I think you need to explain that one further because I don't remember it at all.

I don't even remember that movie... I even read the description on IMDB and I STILL don't remember it... Doesn't mean I haven't seen it though...

Oh yeah, Biker Boys RULZ (I'm kidding, it sucked ^$$, but I'll admit it was my pick)... Much better than Bottle Rocket and Career Opportunities!!!

Someday you're going to see Bottle Rocket again and appreciate it for the high art it is... Career Opportunities, meanwhile, sucked. :D

I think I remember it because at the end we were like "wow that wasn't too bad" and we all agreed, and it was such a monumental moment it stuck in my brain. I barely remember the movie, just remember that for once nobody complained about it!

And for the record, Career Opportunities rocked. Now, take out Jennifer Connelly and replace her with anyone else and just a terrible movie... but pretty much anything with Jennifer Connelly in it is good :).

I don't remember bottle rocket... but I do remember some movie with the guy that used to do the 7-up commercials that was so bad we turned it off like 10 minutes into the movie... LOL.

yes. When Chris and I were single, and Heaths wife worked nights. THe girlier the movie, the more Heath would like it.
