I want to replace the bench seat with two buckets. I don't want power, just manual. Can I do this and use the mounts that are already there? This puppy has NO storage in it. Then I want to make a center consol for it. Is this feasible? Thanks.

You need new mounting brackets...dont know if the same mounting holes would work or not. Just take a glance at an explorer with buckets, and see if the mounting looks similar....then grab the setup out of an explorer in a junk yard. If you go aftermarket, they should have a kit for your truck.

I'd look for something out of a Bronco, or even another pre with buckets rather than bench.

I don't know enough about the pre's, but just guessing that there are most likely already mounting holes for the optional buckets.

My 96 had the 40/30/40 deal in it. basically a bench with the center that folds down with a console and cupholders in it. It was a nice set up, and allowed for good access to objects stored behind the seat. I am assuming that its an F-150 reg-cab.

well I know that this may be a little to far from left feild but I have a 78' bronco that I was sick of the huge hole in the driver seet and the duck tape that held it together that I made some measuremsnes and headed to the junk yard........long story short after a few new holes in the floor board I have a pair of buckets that came out of a Mazda that match color wise and are way easyer on my ass. Cost me 25 bucks for the pair. Granted it took a little creativity to get them in and level but hard to beat the price. So I guess if your not afraid to punch some holes you might save some dead presidents. Random worthless though of the day.

Sounds like that is worth persuing. Where are some junk yards that might have something like this. I haven't been to one in several years. Thanks for the help.

my personal favorite for projects like that would be pull n save. Check em out at www.pullnsave.com

There's also Andersen's U Pull It up in Greeley, which is awesome, but quite a bit further to get to.

Oh - As for the year of Bronco - I am guessing that any of the last style would work. I know the 89 Eddie Bauer I had came with buckets and a console. Man I miss that thing.
