So I'm working on a pilot for a new children's TV show. Just thought I'd share a few "behind the scenes" pictures. Perhaps this show will actually go somewhere - I'm hoping so because I get a cut of any merchandising profits made. :D

Anyway, it's somewhat similar to Barney (I know - and I'm sorry - I really am! :P) with lots of creatures - people in suits and puppets. It's hilarious to see these things lumbering around - the people inside can barely see - and wondering if they'll fall and take the set down with them! The crew has a pool going... LOL

We've also discussed just how easily this show could be made into one for adults. All of the character's dialog will be dubbed in later as their mouths don't move. So the crew was suggesting some more "interesting" dialog be written and recorded...

Anyway, just wanted to share. I'll be working 12-14 hour days for the next 2 weeks. Should be interesting...

One of the freakish creatures lumbering to the set.

Behind this audio board is where I'm spending the majority of my time as sound designer for the show.

Good idea. It looks like something my girls would be interested in as well.

I don't know about seeing it "live" - we're working on a closed set - but I'll definitely try to get copies of the finished pilot. Post production should be complete sometime in December. :D

This morning at about 1am (while we were still shooting), those big fuzzy characters started to look like giant, walking pillows. Is that wrong? Jeez I'm tired... LOL.

I could have sworn I've seen some of those things before. I could swear they were regulars at some of the parties I used to attend.

Yes, they were both regualrs on the party scene until they turned their lives around and decided to become role models for children. :P And really, when you look like they do, what other jobs are you going to be able to do?

Yup, they definitely made some appearances. I knew I had seen them. Everyone just thought I was wasted, but here's the proof.

Indeed, that was the concern so I've been relegated to doing audio. After all, we wouldn't want to scare all those little urchins out there and make them not want to watch the show!:D

Well, the production wrapped yesterday and I can't say I'm sad about it! Those were some loooong hours. Now it moves into post production; hopefully I'll have something to show people by early next year...

Oh, I almost forgot to post this one. I was in the prop room a few days ago and came across a pair of shoes that might fit Matt! :D

(for size comparison, note the bike helmets nearby)

You found my shoes! I've been looking everywhere for those. How did you get them?

I don't know about Matt, but I've never met anyone with bigger feet than mine. And it really sucks that there is exactly 1 place to go for shoes now.

Tray as I recall yours are bigger then mine. I'm a 14 or 15 depending on the brand of shoe. I typically go to "factory brand shoes" or the Nike outlet in Castle Rock.

Yeah, I actually found a pair of Nike's down there once, but since Nike runs so narrow, I usually have to either get a really wide shoe, or go up in size, which makes it even harder to find.

As for factory brand shoes, the last time I went, they told me they only carry up to 15 (same story I hear just about everywhere).

I used to go to Larry's Shoes in Cherry Creek, as they supplied shoes to the Nuggets, but since they've gone out of business, things have been rough.
