Well let me tell you guys this was absolutely awesome weekend. I may not have gotten a lot of sleep but it absolutely rocked. I went out this wekend and got my volunteer huntmaster certification for the colorado Division of wildlife. Great experience with a great group of guys that truly have a pasion for what they are doing. For those of you that do not know what this program does is it give children and women an opportunity to get ou and go hunting in a positive manner. anyways i just figd i would share that it was a great weekend.

Thats really cool, so does this mean you can shoot at anything now as long as you follow the south park stipulations by saying "its coming right at me!!" first?

Sounds like a great weekend & experience!

My uncle was a DOW officer for many years, moved up into HR area, retired from there in 2005. I've got many memories of various DOW officers camped out on our floor during hunting season :)

Wow, so wrapped up my first event I have worked today ,a waterfowl day, Let me tell you the look on the faces of those women and children when they first bust a clay is amazing. what we did today was run a group of women and children w/sponsor through duck and goose calling, technique, shooting to include pit safety and shooting zones, habitat, and basic safety in the field. Amazing day. Can't wait until sept when I get out on my first hunt with em.

One more year left in college and then this is exactly what I hope to be doing. Working as a DOW officer or something along those lines with them. Let me know if there is any way you could help me along the process Don that would be something that I couldnt even begin to express my gratitude for

Looks like a great time though

Last weekend did a hunt in Kim, Co never knew the 4 corners area was so gorgeous. Both kids harvested antelope and had a great time. Can't beat it.

Well what a season.....numerous pheasents and goose on hunts I was on were taken, got to guide you to their first harvest on 2 antelope as well as one elk this yr. I also ran my own goose hunt this yr as well as being in the beginning stages of putting together a turkey hunting seminar for the summer. I encourage anyone whom is an avid hunter and has an interest in seeing the sport carry on into the future to get involved.

Nice.

I got a lab, trained him up on pheasant. Havent had him out yet, missed this season. Maybe next year. I can do all the hand commands in the field with him to direct him to the area I want and such. Hes a flusher though not a pointer but doesnt get more than 20 yards out.

Let me know if you know of any good walk in spots for next year. I'm anxious to get him on some birds...

Brian I know some GREAT areas but don't have a dog so we will have to get together. by great I mean great for colorado not necessarilly great compared to said nebraska/kansas pheasent hunting though. Have to get the small game walk in permit and drive though.

Good deal, I'm up for that. I figured I was going to have to drive. I hear way out east on 70 by the border is the place to go...

That would be cool, Ive got a big wall tent as well. I think I have enough shotguns. I have a single shot 12 guage for him and a 16 guage remington 800 (I think) for me...

All depends on the deployments as well....
