I think I may have a deal cooking with my buddy that works at Firestone. He says that their main concern is selling tires, and they still make a nice profit at half off. May need to buy the guy a 12 pack or so for his trouble, and go through me but could be worth it. I'll let you guys know whats going on soon, but if you're needing tires and can hold off for a couple weeks, you should be able to save BIG!

I'M IN! I'M IN! I'M IN! I'M IN! I'M IN! I'M IN!
I'M ASSUMING THIS WOULD MEAN GOING TO DENVER, BUT (IF YOU CAN'T TELL...) I'M IN! I NEED SKINS, BUT I'M SO CLOSE TO BUYING WALLYWORLD SPECIALS JUST FOR THE PRICE...

BYW, IMPORTS OR DOMESTIC? DARK OR LIGHT? MICRO OR MACRO? DOES HE WANT A BOTTLE OF GERMAN WINE WITH A BRASS MONKEY ON IT?

The kid is 19, so he'd probably be happy with Meisterbrau. LOL.... What size are you looking for and which model? I'll check with him on Monday and see if they are in stock or have to be ordered in. I hope to get myself a set real soon!

I'M THINKING SOMETHING IN A 285/70/16 ALL TERRAIN STYLE, MAX SIZE 305/70/16 (DEPENDING ON PRICE). I'M NOT REAL PICKY ABOUT SPECIFICS OTHER THAN THAT... HE'S GOT ACCESS TO STRICTLY FIRESTONE? NOT THAT THAT'S A BAD THING, JUST CLARIFYING SO I CAN LOOK AT THEIR OFFERINGS.

Firestone and Bridgestone. I think the discount actually only applies to Bridgestones with the uni-t tread compounds, but not too sure. I'm going with the Dueler Revo AT's in a 285/75/16 and I know that has the discount. He told me it would be a little under $400 for those.

THAT WOULD ACTUALLY BE *PERFECT* FOR MY NEEDS. I HAVE 315/75/16 X-TERRAINS NOW, AND THEY ARE TOO BIG AND TOO LOUD (RELATIVELY SPEAKING...). I NEED THE MIELAGE BACK AND I CAN'T KEEP THEM ALIGNED TO SAVE MY LIFE... DIRECTIONALS KINDA SUCK AFTER ALL. I LIKED THE WAY THEY DID OFFROAD, BUT I'VE WORN THEM OUT ON THE ROAD, SO I NEED TO BE MORE RESPONSIBLE WITH THE NEXT SET...

DOH! YOUR RIGHT... WHAT WAS I THINKING... MAYBE I SHOULD PLAN TO GET A SET OF 21" SUPERSWAMPER GOLFCART TIRES SO I GET THE MILAGE BACK AND CAN STILL GO TEAR UP THE GREENS ON HALF OF THE BACK NINE... JUST THINK, WITH AGRESSIVE TREADED RUBBERBANDS ON, I CAN MASQUERADE AS A LOWERED RICER (EXCEPT THAT HUM WILL BE MY TIRES, NOT EXHAUST...). YEAH... I'M LOVIN' IT...

I'll find out more info when either LEANINTREE or I go down to get our tires (whoever is first) but my feeling is they want to keep this fairly low key. They want to sell tires, but they also must remain profitable.

HI NIELS,
YOU ARE SO COOL... I'M THINKING IT WOULD BE A PRETTY GOOD THING IF WE COULD GO DOWN THERE TOGETHER IF WE CAN SWING IT. I'D FEEL KINDA ODD SHOWING UP TO YOUR BUDDIES BUSINESS, SHOW THE HIGHSIGN ("PASSWORD? CLAVOS SENT ME... I'M HERE TO FIX THE LEANINTREE...") , AND HAVE HIM LOOK AT ME LIKE I GREW A NEW HEAD.

IS HIS SHOP OPEN (AND DOES HE WORK) ON WEEKENDS? IF SO, WE SHOULD SEE IF WE CAN TURN IT INTO A 'MINI-MEET' OR SOMETHING (JUST A THOUGHT).

HOLD THAT THOUGHT... I'M GETTING A TRANSMISSION FROM THE 'MAMA-SHIP'... SHE'S TALKING ABOUT HAVING FRIENDS OF RMFTC PICKUP AND HAUL WHILE THEY'RE ON THE WAY TO GJ FOR THANKSGIVING...

Don, if you make it into town, we'll definately have to make a meet out of it, and your welcome to stay at my place if you want. Heck, bring your wife and daughter if you can you can all stay at my place and I can crash with Courtney or my parents for a night.

mmmm....tires..... :love1:

I'm actually thinking about getting some new tires soon, so I just might have to see if I can get in on this offer.

I currently use Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts, and I was thinking of trying BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As, but if I can get a better deal on a new set of Duelers, I'll just stick with them. Duelers haven't done me wrong yet.

Come when I get my tax returns (government owes me A LOT), I'm going to get a new set of wheels, and I figured I might as well get a fresh set of tires to go with them.

Niels....

Was wondering, i cant afford them now, but soon....hopefully soon,...

Could you check to see if he has a way to get his hands on, and cut me a deal on Wide White Wall tires (2.5-3" white stripe on the wall) about 6" of tread, for a 13" wheel?

I doubt he will be able to, but hell, never checks to hurt. If he can beat my buddies price on tires, when it comes time for a set for my truck, i might hit him up again....and ill get him a 30 of Pabst or something..haha

Hey Niels, does the discount apply to car tires as well? My Buick will be needing some tires here eventually...

Unfortunately, the whole deal has gone south. My guy says he may be able to get a 15% discount. Something to do with an ethics meeting his manager went too.
