I like the second chop photo.
Have you chopped it yet? I noticed in your description on the website that those were just ideas.
That's gonna be sweet!

I havent chopped it yet, i dont know how to yet, but i have a metal guy who i might have chop it this time next year....or sooner if i get rich
Since im planning on major body work to it, for now its gonna be in some PPG flat black epoxy primer....who knows if ill change it after that or not...
The 2nd chop is my favorite...it just looksalot better...instead of the sloping side window, it just slants.. :o .thats pimp son :o ...lol. Im thinking of going to a 347 stroker with a blower on it, or a 390 fe taken up to about 450 hp...hahaha If i ever go on an out of state rod meet in it, it will look good behind my truck on a trailer...

Niels...it would look kick ass like that...but, to get by my garage, where that pic is, the road drops about 8 feet over about 60 feet, and is rocky...so I think im going to go gasser style and try to find a straight axle for up front, got to have that nose stickin up or no exhaust..lol  Didnt think bout the rocks livin in the Rocky Mtns too much when i bought it..lol

 all that extra weight would keep me from reaching the 12's in the 1/4 with a small block in it..lol Damn bondo didnt set up last night, so i had to go buy a new batch today, and start over on the final touches again...might eventually get painted, then comes a few more hunderd to tune it up just in time to not be able to drive it cause there will be a foot of snow by then im sure... But we got s running 351 w and a C4 for free today in a car....so it all evens out.

are you going to leave it black, or is that just primer?
looks much better than rust! :)

The captions are courtesy of my sarcastis, assanine, creative, and offensive mood last night.. ...The car hopefully will be a 50/50 mix of daily driver with my truck...i just dont think i can go more than 2 days without driving my truck before violent withdrawls...Im gonna stay black with it, and pinstriping is coming as i get the cash to do it (white and red)...and i have an airbrush fit for the dash that somewhat, almost , kinda resembles my tatt......after i get this squared away, ill start on my truck...and get the body work and paint done on it too...i just dont know what its like to drive an actual 'painted' vehicle..lol

u should see my tattooists truck. its name is truckula... its awesome bagged and it hits the ground when he parks it, but its flat black and sweet ass pin stripping... u do all your paint work right? would u be willing to help me paint mine flat black primer when it comes time??

mattadams

not to hijack a thread or anything, but is your tattoo guy's prices reasonable? I'm looking at getting another one, and the guy that did my last tattoo moved out of town. He did my armband for $50 (I gave him $80 cause I thought $50 was a ripoff to him! LOL)

If the garage is empty, i should be able to help you paint it, but chances of something not being in it for the next few months is slim...but who knows...Ask your tatt artist who he had do his pinstriping..i have a guy up here who does feather striping..but if your tatt guys artist is better or cheaper...or if he does it himself, that would kick ass...

i have seen that truck and it is neat, but i like my truck lifted. i know a guy here in the springs who does air brush work and he is a ford fan.

Slammed trucks depend on what they are.....Just the same way there is no reason for a 4x4 truck to be slammed, there really sint any good reason for a 2x4 truck to be jacked way up and lifted....

Id like to know the tatt artist too, i need some new work done...

ok two things.. my tattooist is the best there is. he is awesome. did both my brothers, my wifes, and the skull and pistons on my forarm, he did the pistriping him self. also he is an awesome christian man. now for the bad news, he works at a shop called Sid's Tattoo Parlor, and it is in santa anna cali. for the good news, one of my friends from school is damn near equel to his talents, and is localy and will hook you up for really cheap. i can show you some pictures he has drawn for me. if u guys would like i can talk to him, and see if he would be willing to do some kind of a group thing with us.... he also could really use the money, as his wife is the only one working and he is tattooing to try and help foot the bills while he is in school... about painting my truck, im in no rush at all, i just want to cover up the rust befor it gets bad. spring would probally be best for me. what kind of things am i gonna need to buy??

Glass
12-30-2004, 01:01 AM
youd need to buy 3 main things....

Sandpaper
Paint
Solvent

The sandpaper would be for a DA, green 3M sanding discs...and some green 3M sanding strips for the Air File...
Paint is whatever you decide on, if its gonna be primered, you want an epoxy primer, because regular primer is porus, lets the water in, traps it, and causes rust...if its paint you want, get an non epoxy primer , then the paint, and whatever catalyst it mixes with
The solvent is good, you need a de-waxer, and general cleaning solvent for after the sanding and body work , and before the primer...

If theres body work, you need bondo, and then some topcoat filler, and some spot putty....gets expensive....for everything...paint and sanding paper is the most expensive part though

You thing theres any rust thru thats gonna need patch panels?
I might be able to just wing it by and see if i can "reserve" the garage for this for a few days or whatever...

Does your tatt artist out here do pinstriping too? or just the Cali guy?

just cali guy.. it is awesome work too. i should have taken pics of his truck, it really was bad ass..... um i just want black primer, black primer only. no body work, and all the rust is just surface, thats why i want to get it soon, but like i said im in no hurry.... so how do i but the primer??

Glass

You want to go to this paint store...the one i use...In Golden...

Single Source - Denver
2450 East Street
Golden, Co. 80401
303-279-7824

Sounds like youll just need some primer, the catalyst, the sandpaper, and still the de-waxer...I got the PPG Epoxy black primer, and cost me an arm and a leg for it...so, get what you can afford.
