I took the day off from work today and went around to get estimates. The lowest estimate I got was $700 and the highest was $875.

That sucks. So what happened anyways?

While the truck was being backed out of the garage at Off Road Innovations, they backed into some shelves along the wall. The lady was directing one of the guys and she told him to stop. I was watching when it happened. He said he put his foot on the brake and the truck took off. I don't know about other F-150's, but my truck will not stop in reverse if you step on the brake and the foot is also pressing on the accelerator. I have aftermarket pedals and the brake pedal is very close to the gas pedal. In my truck you can easily have the foot on both pedals and not notice.

It might be worth it to look up colorado auto salvage, off of 85 and 285. Thats where igot my dad a new tailgate when someone hit it with a forklift  If i remember, it was around 200 or 300 dollars, if you call and ask, they should know if they have one or not. Sorry, i dont have the number. They might even have one your color, which is a big plus

That does suck.
Hopefully they do cover the costs.
Good luck getting it fixed.

Is it just the gate that you need? Can't see if anything else was damaged or not.

If so, I'd look around before shelling out that kind of dough. Also - keep in mind that a tailgate from a Super Duty will fit just fine, and they're usually more findable due to people changing theirs out.

I called Phil Long this morning about the price of a tailgate and their price was lower than what the body shops were charging, then they took 10% off for our RMFTC discount.

But does that include paint??? Or are you talking part price for part price??

Does not include paint. Paint will be an additional $200.
