Nice shawn. It has brakes... engine works... looks like its ready to race .. I dont think you need glass in it, just a driver side window net and a full face helmet.
Wheels look good by the way.

thanks, the door glass is in, pass side isnt mounted up on the motor yet. driver side is in needs some adjustments, Rear window is in the basement, need the weatherstripping for front, rear, and a windshield, and have to wire up the neutral safety switch, plus a overflow reservoir, for the coolant, bolt the bed down. wire up tail lamps... ugh. the list keeps on growing and growing.

Neutral safety?? just dont turn the key allll the way when they ask you to start it in gear...j/k. I have seen alot of cars start in gear and almost take other people and cars out lol..
You know you are close when your list goes form buying stuff, to a list of work that will keep you busy for atleast 3 months. You know how to wire in the neutral safety switch, dont you??
I havent had the balls to do a burnout in the dodge since i moved it down to the shop in Dumont. Last time i was getting ready to do one and 3 county cops went cruising by.. i was on private property, but that doesnt matter up here i guess.
heres the "Sheriff Calls" from the last time i did a burnout and donuts in my truck.

lmfao ! suspicion. Investigators: "Hmmm, was he really doing burnouts? or was he up to something else?"
I wish I could read the fine print, a bit blurry.
as far as NSS I already have the wire through the starter system, I just need to get a switch bolted up to shifter and connect my wires. ( its temporarily bypassed right now) I also was thinking about putting a second headlamp dimmer switch on the floor, loop them through so my foot has to be on it when starting, same as someone with a clutch pedal, right? I could even put it on the clutch pedal since all its doing in there is making it look like I have a manual trans. there are other ideas I have also.
OH something else. I need to get a booster and master cylinder from a late 70s F 100 2WD all drum brakes, and my lamp switch to the pedal, this one is hydraulic on the end of the original single piston master cylinder, another way to run a starter safety switch through.

The fine print has a part that read something like "The deputies on scene advised the reporting party that a person leaving black tire marks on black pavement is not a criminal activity or an act of vandalism"
The thing that probally got them wondering was that i was starting in a back parking lot, going down the driveway, past a building, thru their parking lot, past my apartment, down my driveway, and stopping the burnout about 15-20 feet away from highway 285 lol... a good 200' stretch.
Check out these guys for your brake needs.... http://www.piratejack.net/
Im sure you will buy all new brake parts...right?
if you are looking for just a switch for the brake pedal for the brake light i could bring you switch off of a honda parts car we have.. with the pigtail and maybe a brackte depending on how hard it is to get out of there.
The hydraulic switchs in the master cylinder work great, thats what im running on the dodge.
You could always wire the 2nd NSS into the horn circuti, so oyu have to press the horn when you start it, it would also sound the horn as a warning to the guy next to oyu in the staging lanes that they are about to get their ass handed to them.

all my brake parts are new, I can just buy the booster and master locally. they arent expensive. I will figure out how the slick owners are doing their lamp switch, I believe they are just using one off a truck the salvaged from.
I have an Aoogah horn so that would be funny for a NSS lol , thanks for the link to piratejacks

LOL look at the bright side it looks like the mirrors on the truck are already gone so there's nothing he can do there lol.

04-14-2008, 05:53 PM
you know, I don't think it came with mirrors from factory, or dealer, back then, you would order them with ( I believe, or the dealership would) there is actually rubber grommets where the factory mirrors would belong, doesnt look like they ever had anything bolted up to them either. and if you didnt have them there would be these grommets instead to plug the hole. I am thinking about a set of peep mirrors that clamp on the rain gutters at the roof instead of the factory ones.
This truck came from Garnsey/ wheeler (FT collins?) and when I took the tires off the wheels that was also painted on the inside of the tires. I kept the dealership label that was attached to the tail gate in my tool box as well

Hey Pale, Bandimere has a High School (students) class which races regularly thruout the season on friday nights. It is a part of the Quaker State ET series. If you are interested in racing more than 2 times a year, with competition your own age group, you should really check out the High School class.
