Hello all and Hypoid thx. for the welcome back your box is full I tryed to reply, and hi to all the new members also, so I think I will start here with this new project I came across, I was out and found a superlift 4"-6" lift K382 (http://www.superlift.com/Catalog.asp?P=K382) and if your a nutt like me these was no way you could let that pass, so I went with half my toolbox and a cutting wheel and went to work. Now the problem is I have never put a lift on anything it was easy enough to take off but, I think I would luv some help for the build up, so if there are any takers I offer cold beer or whatever you drink, food and good fun, so again thx. for the welcome back all and special thx. to Matt LOL see I almost missed that. Anyways cant wait to do some trails, and I hope to have this rig lifted and ready to roll on the june trip. thx. again:thumbsup:

 Well thats the thing I have to choose the 93, or the 86 what truck gets it, and im thinking if I end up adding the lift to the newer truck that I will just get rid of the older 1, its a nice truck and runs, but my only prob. with it is thats its older and not fuel injected its also a 5.0/302 not a bad thing at all, the other 1 is a 5.8 injected so im up in the air about it. What do you think? I will post pics of both of them if you want to see them.

We need pics!
302 vs 351: I'd go with the 351 just for the longer stroke.
Carb vs EFI: Given the years, I'd go with the EFI. The emission carbs from the late 70s and up can be a bear to get through emission testing. My '74 came with a thermal air cleaner, PCV, and charcol cannister for vapor recovery. No CAT, no EGR, ahhh the simplicity.
Used parts availability is kinda odd. Before thesoundmaster sold his Bronco, I'd check the boneyards for his tranny every time I went. The AOD to go behind a 351 was really scarce. The 302 powered trucks were dime-a-dozen.
Why there are so many more 302/5.0s in the junkyard is open to speculation, but if you need a tranny for the '93, it may not be readily available, it may be expensive.

Ok on the 86 I put a electric fuel pump in its always running, and that was just in case I get high or something and the carb. bowl dont go dry and I get stuck.

Don't do drugs and you won't get high.

I think the problem is that the carb is huffing gas fumes.
My truck does that when I get down to a quarter-tank and try to climb. That quarter-tank of gas has sloshed to the back of the tank where it won't get picked up.

^what everyone else says
I just thing EFI is much much much easier to wheel....but then again I only like carbs on street cars/trucks so....
