View Full Version : Stock 92 Explorer - What trails

I was looking on Traildamage.com, and was looking for trails that I get there and back. What is the max 'Rock' factor that I can probably do? I think four would be too much. Thanks for any help.

a four would be ok, i think even a two wheel drive could do it just ask dom.

each trail rating system is a little different... some rate some trails abnormally difficult and some say they are too easy, it depends a lot on driver, vehicle, etc. For example, 4x4trails.net listed Bill Moore Lake as a 8 of 10, when in reality, the trail was probably a 6 or so in my book.
But yeah you should have no problems on most 4s-5s. I took my stock Explorer on some crazy stuff before I lifted it and everything.

if you want one thats ok try Devils canyon its rated a 3 and my bone stock B2 went through it fine some minor chalanges nothing to major went on the ride with the guys from Generation-Edge check it out here http://www.4x4trails.net/db_view_trail.php?trailNum=39

As Matt said, I think most of it depends on the driver's ability and experience. I agree with Bill Moore Lake, I also thought it was rated too high, and I would probably rate it around a 4 or 5.

I went half-way up Wheeler Lake when my explorer was stock-- that was very challenging.
I did wheeler earlier this summer, after I got it lifted, and made it, still with some difficulty though.

Switzerland trail is a very easy trail, but there are several areas that lead off the main trail that are much more difficult. Atleast it was like that last time I went.
