I was at the grocery store on thanksgiving day and a kid came whipping right at me going way too fast for a grocery store. Rather then move I let him run into me and he fell to the floor. I didn't even apologize, I said "YOU NEED TO WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GOING!" and left it at that.

I was wondering when we were gonna start bitching about those. I agree 100%. Need to beat the parents for letting the unruly little bastards have them in the first place.......

Tara wants to get them for our oldest son... I admit, I'm with Shawn on this, wish they had em when I was a kid... But I agree, the parents that don't control their kids should get a beat down...

Nah... Matt's top heavy... Kind of like Big Bird... Big ass nose, little chest, little bit of a pot belly and skinny chicken legs... He tips over easily... Runs like Big Bird too... Thats a damn funny site there...
Not that I should really talk though, he's still faster than me...

Force them down the stairs instead of letting them onto ramps.
Completly off topic...the other day i was at Southwest Plaza Mall. My girlfriend and i were going down the escilator. I asked her if she saw thw warning at the top, telling people not to bring strolers on the escilators. At about that time, there was a blonde, with a stroler at the bottom of the escilator trying to get it onto the step...She couldnt do it...I told my girlfriend that if the woman with the stroler was a brunette, it wouldnt be a problem. The blondes friend (brunette) grabbed the stroler, turned it around to get the rear 2 wheels on a step (instead of just the front, middle, 1 wheel) and it worked great.
Back to topic. I dont know that i hate the roller shoes, but most of the kids who wear them seem like they just ate a pound of sugar and are in a stunt movie... DONT LET BLONDE KIDS WEAR ROLLER SHOES!!

Let me guess; if it were a red-head she would have taken the elevator.
I think the shoes are cool, they kind of caught me off guard the first time I saw them. Like Matt, I think that natural consequences (within limits) are a great method of teaching.
It takes a village to have an idiot!

Used to see kids in the store running (rolling) around on 'em, yelled at them all the time. I hate em.

We had a little different design of those when I was a kid. They were a metal cage that strapped to your shoes like mountain climbing crampons and had metal wheels.
Good times... Good times... :)

I guess there is just something about people...and things with wheels...Different wheels for different ages...

One of my gripes with the shoes is, tell me one airport, shopping mall or business that allows people to wear rollerblades or roller skates inside their establishment. I would guess none, unless its a skate shop, roller arena, or somethign designed for those people. but these kids use the frickin things EVERYWHERE. I was at the airport and these two kids on rollershoes were launching each other to see how fast they could go and they were dodging around business travelers, etc. its complete bullshit.
It's also teaching our kids more and more that exercise is for suckers. Some kids might get more exercise as a result of the shoes but I'm willing to guess that most will get less. Because its too challenging to walk from the parking lot to the store, now wheels can carry you there! ugh.

I agree 100% with Matt on this. I hate walking through a store and having the little buggers flying around out of control. I just want to trip them up one day and watch what happens. Just let the parents try to lecture me, it will be an ugly scene very quickly.
If they could attach motors to them, you know they would. God forbid a kid get some exercise these days. I hate them as well. I told Amy the other day that I wished kids who used them fell down and got hurt (mildly - I'm not that mean). Her response - as a teacher who sees them all the time - was, "oh, they do...a lot." I smiled knowing all was right with the world...

i love to see them run into people at the mall outside my store. They come up to a corner too fast and BAM, they are down. I have taken a few down. My boss made me take th nerf gun to my car though. Something about having a "weapon" in a jewelery store and me shooting at moving targets...
